Volstad replacing Johnson today

Featured Replies

great. there goes the playoffs. we werent going to make them anyway, but can we just shut volstad down already. clay hensley was definitely deserving of a shot sometime in september

Damn I was relying on JJ in one of my fantasy league semi-finals. He is expected to start one of the games in Atanta.

Despite what half of these boards think, Fredi isn't a complete moron. You have to believe there's a very short leash on Volstad. Fredi knows the difference between a JJ start and a Volstad start. He has to be ready to pull the plug on him at the first sign of trouble.

Without a doubt hes fine and you will see JJ tomorrow in ATL

Both Johnsons will prob travel to ATL separate from the team

Josh is sick so Volstad will be making the start

I have a feeling he won't be the only one sick after Volstad's start, hopefully I eat these words, also there's a good possiblity a couple of outfielders will be nursing sore necks

Maybe the Marlins have started following my advice regarding Johnson.

I was thinking the same thing.

And it's official now...there's no point in JJ starting another game this year, anymore.

They say if he's alright he will start the Tuesday game and, assuming there are any playoff implications, the Sunday game. I find it kind of funny though that it's his 32nd and 33rd start, where on his 33rd start he is slated to get some incentives.

Also, they say many of the other players are playing through flu-like symptoms like Cantu.

I was watching the Dolphins today (sorry, but I get too bummed this time of the year to miss football, even a now 0-3 team) but given that we were out of the race when Nunez blew it a couple of nights ago, this was probably for the best. I wouldn't mind Johnson being "sick" the rest of the year, although I wish him no discomfort.

LOL And I am glad I bought stock in aluminum foil last week.

If healthy, I bet he gets the starts. He got the bonus for start 31. If he is able they will give him the 33rd, if for nothing else as a reward. It's only $25K. No biggie. Start him, pull him quick if they want.

There is a difference between "flu-like" symptoms and having the flu. One you can play through, the other is pretty gross.

See my previous post.

I hope he gets one more start, and limit him to 5 innings. This is mainly to achieve passing through the 200 innings milestone and also let him go the necessary 5 to give him a chance of 1 final victory.

I would put money on it he pitches Sunday and picks up that final $25K in bonuses.
