November 11, 200916 yr Reports out of Detroit are that they could possibly deal Edwin Jackson (not so sure why, but whatever). With all indications being that Placido Polanco wont even attempt to resign there, do you think they would consider a Dan Uggla for Edwin Jackson deal? He would be the perfect addition to this rotation imo.
November 11, 200916 yr Author did he sign a big deal with them when he was traded there? If so then close the thread. I didnt know he had signed out his arbitration years
November 11, 200916 yr I dont believe the Marlins are looking to add an Edwin Jackson type of salary http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLb&id=3780 Why not?

November 11, 200916 yr If anything, it's the Tigers who wouldn't do this. They're apparently looking to cut down on the payroll and want some prospects in return, instead.
November 14, 200916 yr We should trade back Andrew Miller. I just hope we kept the receipt because our merchandise was certainly defective.

November 14, 200916 yr Author I wouldnt really want Edwin Jackson anyway. This why would you not want him? he is low paid and is a pretty damn good pitcher
November 15, 200916 yr I wouldnt really want Edwin Jackson anyway. This why would you not want him? he is low paid and is a pretty damn good pitcher He was good pitcher last year. Before that, not so much. I dont want to give up alot for a guy for what might be a 1 year aberration. I also dont like the fact that he is a BB machine. In short, I dont think Edwin Jackson is all that good.
November 15, 200916 yr He could revive himself in the NL. If there are no better offers, I wouldn't be against it.
November 18, 200916 yr I just don't see Detroit trading away a young CHEAP all star caliber pitcher for a fielder with less worth making close to the same contract if not higher after arbitration.
November 18, 200916 yr I just don't see Detroit trading away a young CHEAP all star caliber pitcher for a fielder with less worth making close to the same contract if not higher after arbitration. That's because you're right, and there's no chance this happens.

November 19, 200916 yr Rumours of a 3 way deal involving Detroit (Edwin Jackson), Seattle (Brandon Morrow) and a mystery team. Wonder if it could be us involving Dan Uggla? We tend to try and remain anonymous in deals under either they go through or collapse at the last minute.
November 19, 200916 yr If that were the case, the team getting Morrow would be scrooooooood, unless they got something else significant in addition.
November 21, 200916 yr If that were the case, the team getting Morrow would be scrooooooood, unless they got something else significant in addition. I still feel he has huge upside. If he can just find the plate he'll be dominate. He's very similar to an Andrew Miller. I guy early in his college career didn't have great control, put his control together his last year in college, dominated, got drafted high, and now hasn't really been able to find the plate as a professional.
November 21, 200916 yr If that were the case, the team getting Morrow would be scrooooooood, unless they got something else significant in addition. I would like Brandon Morrow as a return for Dan Uggla. The guy has a lot of potential, and has proven it in the big leagues. Seattle has just been stupid with him; they continue flip-flopping him from starter to reliever to starter. Kid doesn't even know his role anymore. What are people actually expecting for Uggla? Seriously...

Seriously... Well, I wasn't necessarily referring to the Marlins giving up Uggla in that trade; I just meant if one team is getting Edwin Jackson and another team is getting Brandon Morrow, then that doesn't at all seem like a fair return. Granted, I just glanced at his stats and saw a 25 year old who walks nearly 6 per 9 innings and seemed to pitch out of the bullpen based on his IP totals. If he has legitimate potential as a starter, then fine, but my glance at his stats didn't portray that, especially if he's a return for Edwin Jackson, who has established himself as a solid starter.
