In some ways that's true but I actually think it's more of a knock on the Red Sox, not the Marlins. The Marlins are the ones scouting the talent and building the players. The Red Sox have the Marlins do the leg work. Just because they have a higher payroll doesn't mean that they are superior. It's also quite humorous how desperately the Red Sox need Hanley Ramirez back. Ever since they traded him to the Marlins they've had a lot of trouble filling that hole at shortstop. Look at the people they've tried: Alex Gonzalez, Julio Lugo, Nick Green. If you want to stick it to Red Sox fans, just remind them that.
