Nice hit by Bonifacio. Showed bunt first pitch, third baseman charges the plate on the next and EB lines it past him into left.

Wow I see Morrison so far 2-2, with a Double, do you still think he can make a run for the 1st base job?

So whats going on with Stanton? He had a sore elbow last i heard and hasn't played in a few days.

Looking at Volstad's line he gave up 6 hits in 5 innings but had 9 ground outs to 2 fly outs. Hopefully that sinker is getting better and hes keeping the ball down.

Yeh and included in that were 3 double plays

He still needs to cut down on the walks.

2 in 5 innings is a step in the right direction however

It was also a good day for Baker in his first start back. He was 2-2 with a walk and threw out two runners.

Apperently he wasn't too worried about his stats for most of the spring and had been working on a new pitch (a slider) which he used only 5 times in his latest outing, focusing more on his sinker ball. Good signs if you asked me. Hopefully this is more of the Volstad we see this year.

One other thing...Has it been mentioned yet how much of a beast Coghlan is? I think it should be mentioned. He is a beast. Beastly. The Beastinator. Just thought I'd point it out, in case nobody else had noticed.

Yeah I did read Voly was working on a slider so that might explain some things.

Ive also noticed that Cogs just keeps hitting. It seems like most of us already take him for granted.

Anyone know why JJ left after 4.1 innings?

I've only been looking at the box score but I'm slightly worried as to why he has left during an inning

Just looked at Clark Spencer's twitter and he hasn't said anything about JJ.
