Spring Training 3/15 - 3/21 Games

Featured Replies

anyone know what happened with RVH? H only faced nine guys through three innings seemed to be rolling along (only have box score to go by). Next thing I see is 19 guys have come up and six runs later Penn is in there to get the final out of the inning?

looks like JJ got hit as well, maybe they aren't far enough along conditioning-wise to go +3 innings yet...just guessing.

Could care less about what JJ does in Spring Training.

I think RVH going 3 scoreless like he did is a good sign. As Marlins2003 said, it might be a fatigue thing. He's certainly doing better than some of the others.

Where do you get box scores while the game is in progress?

mlb.com box score gives updates every half inning.

I'm hoping JJ was working on the changeup. RVH??? What can I say. Fatigue?

Im not worried a about JJ. I assume he was working on a certain pitch, probably the change up.

JJ gave up 4 runs in 3 innings against the Braves, though I'm not concerned about any dodgy Spring outings he has.

On the other hand, after 3 scoreless innings against the Nats, RVH gave up 6 runs in the 4th which is disappointing, all the first runs he has given up in ST, after 8 scoreless innings.

Meyer looks pretty good. Just K'd Heyward. Pounded him in then got him away.

Penn just went 3.1 innings in relief of RVH and gave up one hit/one run, a homer to Ryan Zimmerman, otherwise was good performance. let's see if he comes out for another inning.

I like that out of the 10 outs he recorded, only 1 was a flyball out. He recorded 1 K, and 8 groundball outs.

Turnbow in for Penn

Turnbow injured, according to the Marlins on facebook...

Turnbow out. No outs, 2 runs, a walk, a hit batsman, a wild pitch.

Tankersley in. Tank immediately gets lit up for three runs.

Turbow's two runs were in fact given up as inherited runners by Tank. :banghead

ok so a bad start by JJ but im not worried.

vandenhurk seemed to be cruising along so that was pretty uncharacteristic of him....i think he bounces back in the next outing.

Very impressed by Penn.....3.1 innings and just a solo home run with no walks.

I see it as a not s ogood thing that he keeps doing this. Even in the regular season his problem is getting deep into ballgames. 1 thing ive noticed about him is that he never really goes past 5-6 innings ever. I think longterm he might be better suited for a late inning role, as he wouldnt be much more then a back of the rotation arm if he cant get deeper into ballgame. The only bad thing about the situation is that we have no one right now who can take his spot in the rotation because West and Miller are most likely going to start the year off in the minors. But in the future I could definitely see Rick being a late inning, back end of the pen type guy.

Logan was 2-4 today with a run and RBI.

Tomorrow should be exciting with Hanson on the mound for the Braves facing Stanton.

Who's scheduled to pitch tomorrow for us? Excited that it's actually on TV.

I agree with this, actually.
