5/22 - Marlins at White Sox 2:05 est.

Didn't think we'd get much from Wes anyway this weekend. He hasn't really done much anything when he's been at the plate this year.

Cantu and Hanley need to get going. We started grounding out to guys in St Louis and it continues.

It's hard not to already look ahead to tomorrow or maybe a turn around with the big Braves series back home.

If I was Volstad, I'd hate pitching for this team. A groundball pitcher with a bad defense behind you, the face of the franchise who can't be bothered to run after balls for you and a hitting lineup that doesn't have good pitch discipline, recognition or the ability to score any runs.

Volstad should just curse at the team in the dug out. Offense ain't doing sh*t. And I don't mean cursing them out, but cursing them out to get them fired up, if that makes any sense?

A guy who plays like crap should be mad at others who play like crap? Granted he's only given up three runs, but he's pitched poorly.

When a pitcher on the toher teams who had a ERA of 7.00 something and is 1-4 is shutting your team out, yes.

Gavin Floyd may have a higher ERA, but his stuff is better than Volstad's when he is on.

For real? Well, he should have waited for his next start to start pitching well

I wonder if Loria still thinks this is aplayoff team... As it is right now, unless changes are made, this is a .500 team... and the offense fails again

well game isnt over but looks like were going back to .500 and havent scored in 23 innings. better hope the phillies lose or well be 6 out and lose 3 games in 3 days.

Damn, pretty much everybody looks lost at the plate right now. The entire lineup 1 through 9

i think this started after mess with Hanley mess we ok first game back but after we want south i think that affect team more and we think we could going 1-3 by end of today on road trip we look lost team

Not being able to touch a guy with a 7 ERA is fun.

And yet it keeps happening. Edwin Jackson came in with an ERA like that... he shut us out across 8 innings. Buherle had an ERA over 5 and.... shuts us out over 8 innings and now we're helping Floyd to turn around his season too.

The Marlins are givers, they take these struggling pitchers and help their confidence out good.

And, yes, Volstad hasn't been at his best either, but he doesn't deserve this.

This team is a playoff team that ain't performing is all. Pieces are there, minus bullpen, but it isn't playing like it should.

Buehrle you can kind of rationalize because he's a good pitcher who is just struggling and on a bad team but the other two, yeah.

Keep in mind that a guy's ERA at any point in the season is not really a reflection of what they are capable of doing on a given night. Jackson, Buherle, and Floyd are all good pitchers who have struggled early this year, that doesn't mean they aren't capable of turning around at any point.

Volstad is what he is. A number four pitcher in the rotation. He'll probably be with the Marlins a long time if he can keep giving them innings. As he gets older, he might even develop into a solid number three.

Not being able to touch a guy with a 7 ERA is fun.

Floyd has a career 4.79 FIP and Jackson has a career 4.72. They're not good.

Volstad hasn't really been that bad today. He's been at least good enough to give us a chance to win. Which is about all you can ask of your #4 guy.

Ok we got a guy on lets get it going. Floyd pitches are getting up the count time to jump on him.
