August 1, 201016 yr Ryan Howard had to leave Sunday's game in the first inning with an apparent knee injury. Howard appeared to injure the knee trying to get back to second base and had to limp off while being supported by manager Charlie Manuel and trainer Mark Anderson. He was replaced on the basepaths and at first base by Cody Ransom. We'll update you on his condition when more is known. Some big injuries the last few days in the NL East.. first prado and now Howard. Granted, you never want to see a guy injured and I don't know the extent to the injury but that is a big deal if he misses any time.
August 1, 201016 yr hes fine, x-rays negative but hopefully he will miss at leas the first 2 games of the series this week,
August 1, 201016 yr Sprained ankle, doesn't say how severe yet. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious. Disgusting display at Citi Field though as the fans loudly cheer the video of Howard's injury.

Wow... It's crazy when Phillies fans ever outclass another teams fans, but today it happened. Also, Mets fans are just bitter that they're team is on a downward spiral while the Phillies and all the other teams in the NL East are on the rise.

August 1, 201016 yr Feel bad for saying such a thing but I hope he misses at least 1 game of our upcoming series. Hope it is nothing serious however as I do not wish any player to get injured regardless of if they play for a major rival.
August 1, 201016 yr Author I think i read somewhere 7-10 days with a good chance he lands on the DL... but its a finger, so you never know how that will effect him the rest of the year.
August 2, 201016 yr I hate to see a man injured, but definitely something of a break for us if he can sit a couple of games against the Fish. As far as the Mets fan cheering his injury, yeah... typical.
August 2, 201016 yr Im such a critic. This is a really bad thread title. Hey look, Ryan Howard just got up and left
August 2, 201016 yr I like use criticizing Mets fans in this thread and then being all like "YEah, I hope he is hurt so that we don't have to play him either!"
August 2, 201016 yr I like use criticizing Mets fans in this thread and then being all like "YEah, I hope he is hurt so that we don't have to play him either!" While the irony is definitely noted, I feel like this board isn't standing in their living room clapping and cheering the injury.
August 2, 201016 yr http://mlb.mlb.com/v...tent_id=9227427 I'm not saying that it's ok to cheer when a player on a rival team is injured but I'm sure the fans didn't know the extent of the injury and I bet that they just became carried away. Maybe Mets fans are really that classless and insensitive but I doubt it. In my opinion they are just passionate fans who got swept up in the excitement of the game and let their secret, "thank God that offensive juggernaut is out of the lineup" translate into audible cheers. I highly doubt they were thinking, something along the lines of "I hope he broke his leg!"
