Did you ever play sports in Middle School (Junior High), High School Or College?

If so which sport and do you still play today?

How did you get started?

I'll start with myself.

I've played Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Flag Football and Dodgeball competitively since 6th grade.

Played Basketball, Flag Football and Softball in Middle School, loved them all. I started baskettball because I've always wanted to play competitively but never had a chance to because of baseball. I was a backup guard for my team, more of passer then scorer but lead team in assists my last year in 8th grade. Flag Football was merely for friends who thought I should try it. I ended up loving it and was the number 2 receiver and backup QB. My favorite moment was when we threw a double reverse WR Pass that I bombed deep to our Running Back who was open downfield to take the lead over our rival in districts.

I played softball due to the fact that Baseball is not allowed in Broward County Public Middle schools. Had a blast since it was slow pitch softball and I've been a power hitter in baseball all my life. I hit 3rd and and hit 22 Homeruns in a span of 15 games. We lost at County's all three years I played.

In Highschool it was time to step up my game and I put all my focus in my lifelong sport of Baseball. Freshmen year was a lot better then I expected. I started the majority of the games on JV at DH and LF with a couple of starts at my natural position of 3B.

I earned my way to the 6th spot of the order and hit around .400 with 2 Homeruns and 22 RBI's in 34 games. I also pitched in 7 games as a reliever gathering 4 saves.

Sophomore year I came in with high hopes and a big season. I started well hitting a homerun in the 1st game of the season and had 3 rbi's batting 4th but it went downhill from there as I started to struggle after missing a week from a fever and another week from a muscle soreness in my left leg which kept me from running. I never got back on track and finished hitting barely over .300 with 2 Homeruns and 14 rbi's in 20 Games. I then got a surprising call from my coach while I was in class to go meet him in his office. He had told me I'd be able to dress for the last 5 Varsity games because of injuries to a bullpen pitcher and our starting Left Fielder. I got to pitch in two games as a sophomore on Varsity, one in a blowout and only allowed one run on a double after a walk. My 5 at bats weren't the greatest as I K'd, flew out, walked, sac bunted and K'd in that order but it felt good to see what Varisty Pitching looked like.

Now I'm going into my junior year pretty nervous as I have a chance to start either in Left or 3rd Base. Best hopes are to just start every other game but I'd love and everyday role. I'm gonna have to earn a spot this fall for the main season in spring but I feel I'm good enough to start.

What about you guys? (You don't have to post this long just whatever you feel is nessicary)

Middle school soccer, High School baseball. Quit baseball after my freshman year because I just got tired of the practices.

Including rec, I played baseball for close to 11 years and soccer for 8.

Yeah the at least 4 practices a week are killer especially with school work. What I'm gonna love about Varsity is the practices right after school til 6 rather then the practices at 6 or 6:30 until 9.

It'll be better for schoolwork but it's going to still be tough with the excessive amount of reading and assignments of AP classes.

Played soccer for my primary school team for a few years as a goalkeeper (from age 9 till I was 11) and a local boys team as a defender from when I was 6 till 14. Played for my secondary school golf team aswell (14 till 17).

Don't play for any teams at university now however I still am an avid golfer and currently play off a handicap of 12 at Turnberry.

I played optimist baseball from ages 13-16, played center field and left field mostly, pitched a couple games. Won a championship in my final season there, came 2nd twice before, 3rd/4th many times other than that. [lol]

In 8th grade I played on my schools Baseball team [school was a K - 12 system]. I got Team MVP, which I could be proud of... but I'd rather not be, seeing that this team went 1-17... I played Shortstop and Center field on this team [i did not like shortstop]

Bowling team 8th grade don't remember how I did there but I'm bowling again now lol :D Oh so much fun

I keep score!

I played on a club in 9th grade. I didn't have much fun because I played outfield and had terrible eyesight. The coach had a philosophy that he wouldn't move you to IF until you mastered the OF and I never got to that point. I couldn't see the ball. I really wanted to play 1b but never got the chance.

Not being able to see the ball and playing first base could be bad.

I could see it up close. I'd just lose it in the air. I'm near-sighted, not far-sighted.

Reading a baseball in the air is very very difficult for some people.

One of my teammates played 2nd Base and was an average fielder but a good hitter, when a new kid came in and was an all around beast we tried moving the original 2nd baseman to Left Field. The kid had only played outfield a couple times before and he couldn't see the ball in the air off the bat. He practiced for weeks but he couldn't read a flyball but strangely he could catch popups at 2nd base...

It ended up with him staying at 2nd base, I moved from Shortstop to CF and the new kid played short. Best Season of my life.

That's why CF was always way easier for me than LF. There is video footage of me somewhere almost getting busted in the face on what was basically a looooong pop-up to LF that I nearly lost track of 3 times.
