So I guess I'll start this thread because, after all, today was the last game of the 2010 season for the Marlins. This thread is basically where you can talk about whatever you want about the 2010 Marlins season: what you liked about it, what you disliked, memorable moments, ect.

I'll start it by bringing up some good and bad. This season was definitely disappointing in many ways. The injuries were insane. Some things about the season I remember:

1) The Nyjer Morgan brawl and Gaby Sanchez clotheslining Morgan

2) The firing of Fredi

3) Getting rid of Cantu and Cody Ross

4) Donnie Murphy's walk-offs

5) Edwin being the first Puerto Rican to manage in the MLB and then to manage the series against the Mets in Puerto Rico

6) Conine on the pregame and postgame show

These are just some highlights. You guys can add more. Overall I thought this season was frustrating and disappointing but it had its moments and I can't wait for next year!

What do you all think? What do you remember the most about this season?

Oh and a few more: Logan-the-hit-machine-Morrison, Stanton (how about his first home run being a grandslam?), Alex Sanabia and how pretty good he's done...

  • Author

How could you miss the debut of Giancarlo Cruz-Stanton!?

heh temporarily slipped my mind but I made good ;)

Except for the debut of Stanton and Morrison, there wasn't really anything exciting at all this season.

We got perfected by Halladay. That's the way this season should be summed up.

I always wanted to see a perfect game pitched...just not against the Marlins :confused that was definitely a low point..loved how the Marlins tried capitalizing on it...selling tickets to the game so people could say they were there -- even if they weren't (that's what I heard anyway)

Watching JJ was perfectly exciting.

The good: The fact that it looks like we have a bright future with Stanton and Morrison.

The bad: Just about everything else.

What about Uggla's amazing season?

Highest Average, Runs, Homerun Total and RBI Total of his career.

Also the emergence of Every Day Clay and Brian Sanches being for real!

Hensley reviving his career, Uggla's career season, the future stars of the team making their debut, JJ winning the ERA title.

BTW, I just realized that because of Bob Davidson we missed a .500 season.

I want to punch him in the mouth.

How do you think all the people who had the Marlins "over-80.5 wins" feel?

There was plenty of excitement this season. JJ, the brawl, Stanton and Morrison, Sanchez, Uggla.

Ah the Bob Davidson debacle, and yep Uggla career high season..there were some very interesting moments this year. It may also go down as the year of the banning of pies

Donnie Murphy after his walk-off hit (I think the second walk-off? shoot I forgot now lol)

I can't stop wondering what would've happened if it was 0-0 after 9. Would both JJ and Halladay have kept going? Also the 3rd out in the 9th for Halladay and the Phillies would've been really weird because the game wasn't over yet. Would they have still celebrated the PG, then got back to the game?

How about being scolded by MLB about payroll and then signing JJ to the nice deal.

And how about the financial documents being leaked?

I'm a negative nancy yay.

JJ only went 7 innings that night. He was already out of the game.

There were some bright spots, but if you're asking me to sum up the season, I'd say it was disappointing.

JJ was exciting, but disappointing all the same when his ERA didn't translate to wins because of not going long enough, the bullpen screwing him over, and sometimes just sheer bad luck.

Josh pitched well, but he was just another victim of what was a Marlins season where things just didn't go their way.
