His defense was never a problem this season, he turns the DP with the best of them Uggla's defense has always been a problem. Even in the DPR department, Uggla's rating on fangraphs is a -1.3. He has a negative rating on all the sections that constitute UZR, and that's been happening since he came into the league. It's clear he's a butcher defensively, and has a reputation for that around the league. His 3 errors at the all-star game doesn't help his cause neither. But then again, this whole Marlins team (w/ the exception of Stanton and maybe LoMo at 1B and to a lesser extent, Maybin) stinks defensively. Hopefully Dominguez can be called up in time and LoMo be switched to 1B to at least help the infield.
October 13, 201015 yr Uggla is a bad defensive 2B, though I wouldn't call him "a butcher". He does have a reputation but reputations and $.74 will buy you a cheeseburger on Wednesdays. A 3 error game 3 seasons ago is irrelevant. He's not bad enough that it matters.
October 14, 201015 yr Author I was in the process of making the next evaluation for Hanley Ramirez, but as I was just about finished my browser crashed and I lost the will to live. Can somebody else start the Hanley Eval? Then we can switch off and have another person do a player after.
