Thought this was the weakest episode of the season. This felt like a filler episode, I know the tension was supposed to be high in the warehouse with the governor but I couldn't get over how much of a cliched villain they made him. Dragging the shovel to make noise, whistling while chasing her. Seemed like too much.

I was caught up last Saturday. I shouldn't have caught up so fast though because the 2 episodes since have been lackluster.

I thought it was a good episode, being a set-up for next week and the finale. I never thought i'd like an episode where Andrea is the main protagonist, but it was ok. Liked that Milton grew some balls and (IMO) set those pit-walkers ablaze. Do agree with Max that the govna became a little cliche with the whistling and shovel, but I didnt mind it all that much. He was whistling while working in his little shop of horrors, so I think its something he does when he goes full on bananas. I love the scene where andrea opens and hides behind the door to unleash zombie hell on him, and it had a very good cinematographic sense, when the shot pans out and she is looking through.

 

Couple of things that bothered me... After escaping the govna in the warehouse (at night), Andrea is approaching the prison only to be caught off guard (at daytime) by the govna. She had to have been running a while, and at no point did she look back? how was he able to sneak up on her?

 

Really liked where they are taking Tyrese. He seems like the kind of guy who will let things slide once or twice, but dont eff with him too much, or he may throw you in a pit full of walkers.

 

Overall, I would give it a 6/10.

I think you are correct Dr. B. I think good ole Milty will die a hero's death saving Andrea or someone from the Prison. I also think we are losing Santa along with someone else who will be kinda unexpected.

We don't really know what they have planned past this season. I could see them staying at the prison, but then another conflict is needed besides running out of food and zombies to keep the show interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if the Governor survives.

I would be annoyed if the Gov'na survived. I would be really pissed off if the cliff hanger they leave is the ensuing battle. That would really piss me off. Really. A lotz. Pls dont.

 

This season's been great, but they need to move on. Season 3 should end with a battle and either the prison should be breached and no longer home-worthy, or they find a lack of purpose for it and a strive for supplies, etc.

Yes, IMO they need to finish this storyline and move on. I agree with your cast assessment, good Dr. I think you pretty much nailed it. I hope the kill of the Govna and start with a new story for season 4. It would also really piss me off if all of this build up leads to nothing as far asthe Govna.

Woods are cool as long as it's high paced. I missed when they were under constant pressure and constant fear. Now it's just casual walking around zombies like it's no fucking big deal. Put some pressure on their asses.

I think the episode "Clear" showed that this television show is best when the people are consistently on the run and encountering different kinds of people on a daily basis. Think the Doctor, the guys who work at the nursing home, basically everything the first season. When they bog a show like The Walking Dead down to simple storylines like "Look for the missing girl on the farm" and "Woodbury vs. The Prison", the show feels weighed down by it. I think the show needs to go back to showing how there's still traces of humanity left in a world filled with flesh eating zombies, instead of creating stereotypical villains and caricatures.

 

There's been great episodes and great changes in the third season, much better than the second season, but the writers need to remember that the Walking Dead is a never ending storyline. No matter what happens, there will always be zombies chasing them and they will all eventually die, most of them a gruesome death.

They successfully gave us an episode that was killer without having to use the last 20 minutes for a setup for the next episode.

I'm not a comic reader but it's my understanding that there are many a bad ass to come.

Now, that was an edge of your seat great episode. Setting up what should be an epic finale.

I really liked the episode. Merle's death sucked. He was one of the best characters on the show, and it sucks to see him go. At least his last act was of honor as he let Michonne go and took out some more of the Governor's cronies. I really enjoyed his interaction with Michonne while they were our of the prison. Why is it the show gets so much better when theyre not stuck in stupid storylines like "save the little girl", or "Prison v. Woodbury"? Think back to season 1 and how the best episodes came when the group left the camp "the vatos in the hospital", "Dr. Jenner and the CDC". In season 2 it was when "Santa's bar rescue" and "18 Miles Out" when Rick and Shane went to drop off Randall. It ALWAYS when they leave the safety of their camp that things get good. Hope they end this storyline next week and we get a fresh start in season 4.

Cliffhanger is fine, but we need a finale that seals this storyline. Leave me hanging for a new story... that's cool. Just don't leave me hanging on the governor, the jail, or the finishing of this plot.
