They rescue them, cliffhanger ending, like Andrea sees Michonne or Rick or she finds Glenn and sets him free. They get back to the Prison and the Governor lays siege to it and attacks.

Oh yeah, for sure with the cliffhanger ending. I dont think they (Ricks gang) will be captured... I think it will be more along the lines of them rescuing Glenn/Maggie and heading back to the prison for the ensuing shitstorm from the Gov'nas group.

 

The old man was gone for sure, and they did right in killing him as he would have been a liability to the group. I was just mentioning that he was dispenced rather quickly and with no remorse, therefore making some of what Dale said about dehumanization of the group true. It is certain that as they are, quite literally, surrounded by death, they will start to see killing someone as less and less important.

FWIW I have not read the comics so everything you hear from me was just speculation.

 

 

In fact, nobody knows the fate of Daryl, Merle, or Oscar. I'm fairly certain all three are TV Series only characters.

 

Regardless of what happens, I'm guessing it's the end of the line for Merle sooner than the govna. Could be wrong though.

Not even gonna try and predict what happens next week. Can't wait.

Some thoughts on the midseason finale:

 

 

• I honestly think that Daryl let himself be captured in order to confront his brother. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure he would've just been killed right away during the gun fight.
   
  
• Will seeing Shane in his mind affect Rick in the second half in any way? With Lori gone, does he miss Shane even more?
   
  
• It's been interesting to see the different sides of the townspeople. At first we see them all peaceful and serene, then during the zombie fights they look like a WWE crowd. But seeing them shout "kill them" towards Merle and Daryl really drove in how under the Governor's control they really are.
   
  
• Uhhh Tyreese I think a gunshot to the head would be a lot more preferable than a hammer smash while she's still alive.....just sayin...

No I get that they wanted to do their own, thats fine. She still seemed alive at that point and a hammer to the face just seemed a little extreme in that case.

I thought that scene with Axle and Beth was creepy. Dude said he was in jail for drugs, but I dont buy it. I got the creeper/child molestor vibe from him early on. Its a good thing Carol stepped in there, dude is a creeper.

 

Also, I really wasn't feeling Michonne much the whole season, but ever since she left Woodbury, she has made a turn for the better. They need to give her more dialogue, instead of so much mean muggin, but I think she can be a great character. The scene with the govna was awesome. Seeing him beg for his daughter and then Michonne slicing through her mouth with the kitana. SO much win. She is ruthless and does not give a fuck. I have not read the comics, so I am basing this on what I know of her from the show.

And massive problems could have been resolved by Michonne saying "The governor sent people after me to kill me. I came here with your friends from the farm to get the Asian guy and his girlfriend back"

Michonne doesn't know Andrea was part of their group. Michonne doesn't know who Rick and his people are. Andrea pointed a gun to Michonne. Andrea doesn't know her former friends are currently there until she sees Daryl. Andrea doesn't know Glenn and Maggie are even there.

 

I mean she could've said SOMETHING, but not all that.

 

Anyways though, I really want to know what is to become of Merle. My money has it that instead of executing Daryl/Merle, Andrea will stop the Governor from doing that. Either that, or the Governor will give Merle the ultimatum of killing his brother to prove his loyalty. Or he will make Merle go and kill Michonne in exchange for Daryl's life. Who knows.

Andrea said to Michonne "I've told you everything about me"

Also, Merle knew Glen when he saw him, Michonne knew Andrea knew Merle. Merle mentioned several folks when Michonne and Andrea first reached Woodbury.

Andrea specifically mentioned the farm to Michonne.

Michonne still doesn't really trust anyone. No point in her sticking her neck out for the group just yet.

OK, so the 2nd half of the season kicked off last night. Overall, I thought it was a good ep.

 

Couple of observations:

 

I think it was awesome seeing Glenn lash out at Rick over his decision to let Daryl go. Even tho, Glenn would have been pissed if Rick had allowed Daryl to stay as his only condition was that Merle stay too. For those of you who read the comics, I thought Merle would end up taking Martinez's spot, in that he would leave with the Prison group, only to help the Govna come back later and reak havoc.

 

Rick seeing Ghost/Zombie Lori was FREAKY AS SHIT. When he looked up and saw her I froze. I think Rick is definitely struggling and it all has to do with the responsibilites thrust upon him as the main protector of the group. People keep dying, and he is taking the losses personally, instead of realizing that people are going to die. I still don't understand why Rick has a problem with Michonne. Sure, she left them for a bit, but she returned, and has kept her word the whole time. I guess we will find out more later.

 

Though we finally saw the evil, no f*cks given attitude of the Govna. I loved when the dude was bitten and nobody, not even Andrea could take him out, the Govna shows up out of nowhere and caps him, says nothing, then retreats. Should be great!

I'm anxious to see how far they'll go with Rick going crazy. I also like the way they've handled Carol's character since last season. You can tell she was distraught that Daryl didn't return, but no epic breakdown like when she lost Sophia. And I definitely want to see more Tyrese.

We've definitely not seen the last of Daryl and Merle in regards to interaction with Rick.

 

Michonne is not dying. She's a freaking lunatic just like Rick. I'll be damned if she isn't going to be around for a long ass time. They're riding that lunatic phase for a long time.

 

I think they'll leave the prison at the end of the season.

I bet two of four of Tyreese's group is dead.

 

I bet Hershel is a dead. And maybe Beth. And maybe Axel. I do not see the Grimes, Maggie, Daryl/Merle, Andrea, Michonne, Maggie, Glen, or Carol being potential deaths due to the ensuing battle.

Yeah, but from what I've heard they're not the same as in the comics.

Yeah, at least the kid (Ben) was much younger in the comics, plus his twin is missing in the TV series. idk what theyre gonna do with it, but it would be great if it goes down like in the comics, the whole Carl angle and all... we shall see.

Oscar died in the mid-season finale.

 

Tyreese is current token black guy.

 

Michonne is here though, so Tyreese's wife is probably dead.
