August 1, 201115 yr Chad Henne > John Beck. I knew that from the day I saw Chad Henne throw like... a single pass in a game John Beck played in. Chad Henne is at least a starter. John Beck doesn't touch that.
August 1, 201115 yr Jets re-sign Anontio Cromartie. Thank goodness, it was going to get scary if they didnt sign him back.

August 1, 201115 yr I think the Jets should have signed Jonathan Joseph, instead of re signing Cromartie. They should have never spent so much time on Nnamdi, imo.
August 1, 201115 yr Author I think the Jets should have signed Jonathan Joseph, instead of re signing Cromartie. They should have never spent so much time on Nnamdi, imo. If you have any chance of putting the two best CB's in the NFL on the same team, you take whatever time you need to try and get it done. It's extremely, extremely rare for a team to have a chance of putting Revis and Asomugha together. I mean the Jets looked like the leader for Asomugha for the longest time. Can't blame them for putting nearly all their resources in the 1st or 2nd best CB in the league.

They should have never given him all that time to decide. It should have een here is our offer, take it or leave it.
August 1, 201115 yr Author You don't tell a player like Nnamdi Asomugha to "take it or leave it". That's just asking for him to go somewhere else. Waiting meant they stayed in the running for the best CB in the NFL. How would you have liked it if the Heat told Lebron last season "take it or leave it" to their offer? He would've gone to Chicago and you'd be pissed.
August 1, 201115 yr Okay LeBron James and the Big 3's unique contracting have nothing to do with this. All three took less in Miami than they would've gotten elsewhere (the max for their age). Completely different situation.

There's always the possibility you lose out on a FA you want to go after. The Jets method was way too risky, and now they're over paying for Cromartie when they could have went after Jonathan Joseph, who is an excellent corner.
August 1, 201115 yr True, but I still agree with dim. Not saying he was wrong... I was just commenting on the basketball aspect there.
August 1, 201115 yr Miami Dolphins signed Marc Colombo, and it looks like Shaun O' Hara and Ray Willis will be Dolphins, too.
August 1, 201115 yr Good lord. f*** off, Jason Taylor. f***. Off. Anyways, Randy Moss is calling it a career. Sad day, indeed.
August 1, 201115 yr Author Miami Dolphins signed Marc Colombo, and it looks like Shaun O' Hara and Ray Willis will be Dolphins, too. Colombo and Willis are insurance in case Long stays on the PUP list for the first 5 games of the regular season, and because Carey hasn't been able to stay healthy recently. I'm sure Willis is just training camp filler and will be released before the season starts. Colombo probably splits time with Carey, while O'Hara moves to the starting center spot, moving Pouncey to guard and Jerry to backup. An O-Line (when Long is healthy) of Long-Incognito-O'Hara-Pouncey-Carey/Colombo sounds pretty good.
August 1, 201115 yr Author Good lord. f*** off, Jason Taylor. f***. Off. Anyways, Randy Moss is calling it a career. Sad day, indeed. Great Dolphins fan you are >_> And Moss had an amazing, Hall of Fame (somewhat debatable) NFL career, but he could've been better than he was. The thought of how good Moss could've been if he truly applied himself in places outside of New England and Minnesota (Culpepper Era), we could've been looking at the 2nd greatest WR of all time.
August 1, 201115 yr Good lord. f*** off, Jason Taylor. f***. Off. Anyways, Randy Moss is calling it a career. Sad day, indeed. Great Dolphins fan you are >_> Are you kidding? He's the epitome of a traitor. He left Miami to play for the Jets. And now the Jets cut him loose because he sucked and he comes crawling back.

The Dolphins literally treated JT like trash, so he went to a contender. We're really going to treat a guy who gave the Dolphins a Hall of Fame career for nearly a decade like a traitor because he wanted a championship before he retires? Again, the real Dolphins fans understood why JT went to the Jets, no matter how much we hate them. The idiots are the ones who see JT as a traitor because they lack context. EDIT: And no, Taylor didn't come "crawling back". He wanted to be close again to his family while retiring with the team he spent nearly his entire career with. There's a major difference.

As though Jason Taylor didn't talk trash on our side through his entire career. He knew that going to the Jets was a decision that would mark him as a traitor. He had the opportunity to go many places that were considered contenders. He chose the Jets. There's not a single team he could've chosen as a bigger insult to the fans. It's not lack of context at all. It was 100% okay for him to leave the Dolphins. It's the destination that he chose that was the insult. And yes, he did come crawling back. bulls*** if he had a good season last year you bet he'd still be a Jet. They cut him loose, they didn't want him anymore.

Or, you know, it's because the Jets were good enough to be one win away from going to the Super Bowl, and the Dolphins went 7-9. I don't like the Jets as much as anybody, but you are just being stupid.
August 1, 201115 yr Anyone who debates whether Randy Moss belongs in the Hall of Fame doesn't know football.
August 1, 201115 yr Author If Cris Carter and Andre Reed can't get in, I'm not comfortable saying any WR is a guarantee to get into the HOF (although Moss is a 1st ballet HOFer probably). There's just a lot of writers who hold attitude against a player when voting for them into the HOF.
August 1, 201115 yr Lol @ Jason Taylor. The Jets could really use a quality passrusher right now. @Ashraf: Cromartie is getting $1.75MM/year less than Joseph, and he knows the system already. I think it was a fine signing and doesn't seem overpaid to me, since supposedly multiple teams wanted to make him their #1 CB.
