Hammerhead
This guy. He's a +5, on pace for +20. A bit better than the -7 we had last year. If only he could hit consistently.
CyggyMarlin
For years, the Braves won with players like Lemke and Blauser because the rest of the line-up could hit and they had a solid pitching rotation. You can win with guys like Omar on defense as long as the rest of the line-up and the rotation are solid

Entendu
Omar isn't going to suck this much at hitting for too long.

SilverBullet
Omar isn't going to suck this much at hitting for too long. Neither will Hanley... Which is why that this team, with so many regulars underperforming... is a scary sight for the rest of the league.
Erick
Omar isn't going to suck this much at hitting for too long. Neither will Hanley... Which is why that this team, with so many regulars underperforming... is a scary sight for the rest of the league. Two regulars are underperforming. The rest are either doing fine, or overperforming. I don't really think that we're an unlucky 24-16. From a realistic standpoint, you have to take into account everything that has gone well, as well. Erick
Erick ... ... Shut up. We're basically tied for the best record in the National League. My post wasn't really all that negative; I mean, really, how much better can it get?

My post wasn't really all that negative; I mean, really, how much better can it get? How much better? How about instead of being 24-17, being 27-14 and being ahead of the Phillies by a couple of games? If Hanley and Omar were hot, I don't think that would be an unrealistic thought. Nobody's really saying we'd be 34-7 if Hanley and Omar were hitting better.

Nobody's really saying we'd be 34-7 if Hanley and Omar were hitting better. I'm just saying that it kinda evens out. Gaby is probably not going to hit at this pace all year. Dobbs definitely won't hit at this pace all year. LoMo had a really hot start. Leo Nunez isn't going to be perfect forever (which is a big reason why we are where we are). As good as JJ is, he probably won't have an ERA under 2 all year. etc. I'm not trying to disagree for the sake of disagreeing; I'm just saying that a lot of teams can play the "if" game this early in the season.
