Day night doubleheader on Saturday (1:05 and 7:05)

This has been the most odd week of scheduled baseball ever.

This reminds me of 2004 when our playoff chances were destroyed by 22 games in 20 days including "home games" in Chicago

This is awesome.

Clearly the Phillies are trying to cool down our hot streak and crush our playoff chances.

Very silly. Games should have been moved to Pittsburgh or down here. Those Sat games are not going to be played I don't believe......maybe the 1st one, but the night game will be wiped out.

Why would they move a game to a completely different city before scheduling a double header?

 

Sunday is supposed to be the worst day, so it makes sense to schedule the double-header and hope for the best on Saturday in terms of weather.

 

I don't see where the problem is unless you think it's incredibly likely that the two games on Saturday aren't played. Scheduling games in different stadiums isn't exactly an easy task on short notice.

Also - The Phillies are a guaranteed sell-out. MLB is going to do everything possible to make sure that those games are played in Philly, even if at a later date.

Don't think of a hurricane as a point, but this storm is MASSIVE. When the center of the storm comes onshore in NC the outer rain bands will possibly be in the Chesapeake Bay. The center of the storm was more than 150 miles from Miami at its closest point and yet we still had the outer rain bands down here today.

 

It will already be raining in Philly by Saturday afternoon and definitely by Saturday night.

I think the Marlins should flip MLB the bird and forfeit all the games.

 

What if the Marlins were still in playoff contention? Would MLB still f*** them over like this? This would be seriously unfair if the Marlins were in playoff contention.

 

What about the starting rotation? If the Marlins were in playoff contention would a couple starters go on 3 days rest? I know now they'll probably bring in an extra starter or two because they're playing for nothing. The Marlins are only 5 losses out of 2nd worst record in MLB. They should at least cut that in half by Tuesday.

Yeah, 300-pound lineman wrestling around in mud, linebackers slamming into QBs, and running backs going full speed into guys that weigh 250+. All in the rain. Nothing bad could happen there.
