Who should hit third next year?

Featured Replies

And to think I was being 100 percent sarcastic when I posted that.

I wasn't. I know.

I just put that because i've never seen Banks play, and I figured that was the most sarcastic response I could think of to put.

Shows how much I know about the Marlins organization apparently.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Brian Banks as an option to hit 3rd yet.

If he ever plays, I wouldn't doubt it.

He is one of the most underrated 4th/5th OFers in the game. Swith hitter that has gap power and walks a ton. :banghead :banghead :banghead

Yeah, wouldn't everyone want a 34 year old minor league journeyman, batting 3rd in their lineup?

Apparently, I know more than I thought I did.

Didn't he have a .360 OBP this year?

This would be my lineup

With Pudge:

1.Pierre

2.Castillo

3. Pudge

4. Lowell

5. Cabs

6. Choi

7. Conine

8. Gonzalez

9. Pitcher

With out Pudge i would put Cabs 3rd. If he struggles there i would bring up Choi to the 3rd spot.

7. Conine

8. Gonzalez

9. Pitcher

That would be my "ultimate dream" line up

and it might possibly be it, now that Lee is gone.

I just want to keep our team as intact as possible, and that lineup is the way to do it.

Let Uggy Go and Enc...and now that lee's already gone. and thats very realistic.

It's now up to the FO and King Admin

It's now up to the FO and King Admin Well I don't want Beinfest to pull an Angels, god Forbid I ever say that again, so otherwise it sounds good. I don't think you should ever just sit on a team during the offseason.

The 4-5-6 look great, to have to lefties at the top, then three righties, and a lefty to break that up, that would be great. :mischief

Vlad.

Vlad.

stop thinking about getting Vlad! :banghead

we cant get him! he costs to much $$$

i hope we can get Vlad...

but how?

well i guess anything can happen

if we get him-who will we take out?

We haven't signed everyone yet and we odn't know who we'll sign, but with Pierre and Louie (If he signs) back at the top, the number three hitter should be either Mike Lowell or Cabs. Lowell can get his share of hits and can hit around .300 and he can go the other way too. Plus he has power. Cabs has all that except a poor batting average. Any comments?

It's a genuine concern. I think Cabrera will eventually be a three hitter and it may even be during the season next year. But it's a lot to ask of a 21 year old kid. He is still learning the strike zone, and the pitchers. He's a wonderful hitter, but he still gets fooled a lot. And he strikes out too much.

Lowell is a better five hole hitter. But without a legit three hole hitter, it will probably be Lowell, to start off with, with Cabs four and Conine 5.

What about Jeff Conine?

He runs the count, hits the opposite way and can place a sac fly on command. He's solid run producer and should thrive behind JP and Luis.

If/when Pudge leaves, it's between him and Cabrera.

I'm sorry, but I go with the prodigy.

The Devils Rays already have a filled, talented, young outfield.

Well Loria Can always use some of that "Special Money"...

special money? long story

but Loria used "special money" to sign Pudge last year

Cabs has all that except a poor batting average.

I strongly disagree. This guy can DEFINITELY hit above .300. I'll bet he turns out exactly like Guerrero even playing the same right field position with that strong arm.

Doesn't anyone else think so?

more like Pujols

Pujols or Magglio...

And Miguel hit .300 in I believe 2 of the four months he was up (and he was only up for 10 days in one of those months).
