Perhaps the padres are willing to make another deal?

What do you think it would take to get him?

I say dominguez, james, rasmussen, and ozuna or ceda.

Why would the Padres trade him now when he's pre-arbitration eligible?

when they get a great offer of prospects.

Which we cannot give them, unless you want to include Morrison in your deal.

dominguez, ozuna, james, and rasmussen are pretty good prospects. even throw in gaby who is under control for 4 more years. there is a lot of potential in guys like ozuna, james, and dominguez.

and morrisson is no longer a prospect.

So you have a good rotation at that point but then you have a hole in outfield assuming Lomo slides in to first. And this is all assuming that Bonifacio will continue what he did last year and filling left field with Peterson who has limited major league experience. That's also assuming no further moves are made. I know your not high on Gaby for some reason, but I see no point in moving Gaby just to create further holes.mx unless the FO makes a move that will benefit the outfield.

I know Gaby was a small part of your idea but I wanted to comment on that specifically.

That wouldn't be enough. Especially when they probably aren't even looking to trade him.

Why must we get our pitchers exclusively from the Padres? And let's not forget we are talking about a guy who went on the disabled list for sneezing.

So did Sammy Sosa.

Watched Latos pitch in high school at Coconut Creek High and in college at Broward. Dude has great stuff and he's one of my favorite young players in the league.

No idea why the Padres, who are in rebuilding mode, would want to trade him, though as he is a young ace. It'd be the equivalent of us trading JJ three years ago.

If you're going to make an offer, though, it'd have to include James and Morrison.

I'd love to have him. He's a local kid, pitched at BCC I believe. I know my brother hit against him a couple times in college, said he was one of the nastiest pitchers he had faced.

Too bad the Padres probably wouldn't give him up for all the tea in China!
