Kinks at the new park

Featured Replies

Obviously some growing pains; I'm sure SOMEONE from the FO pays attention so I thought I'd create a list.

1. Programs - not enough; and 1 stand for the whole park?

2. Tri Rail: a "Marlins Game" ticket option would be ideal. Other than that tri rail was awesome. People were confused on where to go but I don't think theyve ever ridden the train. Or they just refused to research and read ahead.

3. Employees: every.single.person. I talked to just said "I have no idea,"

Or "I don't know." questions ranged from where's the bathroom, where are they selling more programs, to do you have sprite. Seriously; one guy at Miami Mex in 326 didn give me my change; I had to ask him for it and he pulled it outta of his pocket. I asked another lady where the bathroom was and her response was " I dunno sugar I'm so high right now I don't know where anythang is!" she was on crazy uppers.

4. First base gate - really crowded. But that's to be expected, I think they can improve flow by moving promotion handout (like the lanyards) back 20 ft from intake so people who don't want one can bypass and not Have to wait.

5. Volume - park seems to operate between crazy loud and deathly quiet. Guess our graphics organ people need to find a Rythm.

6. Replays - there were none.

7. I'd like to see some more clearly marked exits. I knew my way out; but a lot of people are entitled and refuse to read. Could create a future problem.

All this race talk on the other topic got me thinking the title was hurtful to our overseas brethren. I guess thats what looking on a small screen will get you.

Can't expect the workforce to change it's ways just because we have a new stadium, unfortunately.

What about recognizing our history before Miami? Theres hardly any recognition for our first two titles. Yeah I know, the flags, but flags only work if you've got quite a few titles under your belt

Make the recognition for the two 'Ships physically bigger and associated with our old logo. Sell throwback merch in the team store. Maybe make some of the art that's just pretty actually about the people who play there

And it's over now but I was expecting some kind of montage during Opening Night to give us a sense of context.

Meh

They need to do something about the food lines. I waited in the Cuban line for 30 minutes and get 2nd in line and the guy announces that they are out of Cuban sandwiches. How the hell can they run out of Cubans? I had a similar thing happen at the UM game. Other then the food lines and inept people working the counters the park is great.

Give it a couple of years before they start doing throwback stuff. The Marlins are trying to promote their new brand. While it would be profitable it would be counter productive when your trying to promote the new stuff. I fully expect us in a couple of years (2-3) to see a Turn Back the Clock game like many teams do.

Only two flags. Tiny flags; when seen contextually.

And yeah I see them trying to promote the new brand.. It's just offensive to get a big f*** you in the face. Like the old logo and history are your grandpa and you're making awkward excuses to get out of the retirement home as quickly as possible because the teal paint smells funny.

Some banners, and maybe some sculpture or art sh*t that loria loves would be nice.

Everybody's Gonna Be Happy when the team finally fixes these things. Just think of how that place will look on a Sunny Afternoon. We'll enjoy it Till The End of the Day.

I actually think that the banners were an oversight. Loria is usually really big on promoting our world championships, and for them to have such an extravagant event and just pull some flags in the air seemed a little odd to me. I have a feeling that they maybe even forgot about it and made those flags last minute, because who the hell raises championship flags in a ballpark that will be domed 80% of the year? They'll never fly...

I really hope they raise some nice, big, new banners above the glass doors in LF on the part of the roof that doesn't move. They will look good, roof open or closed, and that space needs something anyway.

you guys said you wanted a ballpark that screams miami. you can't complain now that the employees are doing lines of coke off of your hot dog.

you guys don't get it both ways

I could give a f*** about lines of coke off my hotdog. Just give me my change for the hooker in the bathroom.

If hot dogs are $8 I can only imagine the inflated cost of hookers...
