Marlins Park Protest

Recommended Posts

Pathetic.

5 people were there and one was pissed Coghlan wasn't called up.

New, owners, for, the, marlins just rolls off the tounge.

But it hasn't happened yet?

It did, yesterday. The second one was because the first was so pathetic. Zaslow and Hochman had audio this morning. I was embarrassed for them.

This is pointless. Though it wasn't really a big deal, remember the petition going around about the color of the new seats at the stadium? One of the members here sent Samson an email about it and he pretty much said "thanks for your concern, but FU." They made it pretty clear that the fan's opinions don't hold any weight. They will continue to do things their way, but then wonder why fans dont show up...

Bad timing and bad publicity leading up to it. It was doomed to fail. This came off as just a handful of hurt fans throwing a tantrum.

Better idea......Do one during FanFest, if they even have one this year. Get the media in on it to make it well known it is going to happen. (The local media has always loved to bash the Marlins, so that should be easy enough.) Timing, planning, and advertising would make it a far better turnout.

yeah tampa isn't the hottest act in town but hey the front office is loyal to their fans in whatever way they can. Yes they have lost a lot of talent in the recent years, but they have still managed to field a, world series caliber team in the process.

So when they're no longer a World Series caliber team, which team do you plan on rooting for then?

That's not something I see in the foreseeable future.

and I don't see a reason why they shouldn't remain competitive for 5-10 years considering the pitching they have and will continue to have.

How about the hitters the keep letting walk for nothing and not drafting since they are pitching obsessed.

Crawford, Upton, and others. They can't keep losing them for nothing and expecting to have a fully stocked farm system in terms of Position players.

They would be wise to move shields for Myers, but they are stuck once their position players "graduate" to a big contract.

They have Longoria and a bunch of pitchers. You can't win like that, just ask the 2012 phillies.

But you'll just switch again if that changes? Cool.

Competitive doesn't = World Series caliber, especially in that division.

And my point was more about the fact that teams don't stay good/bad forever, especially teams that spend like the Rays. So, which team is next?

Who's gonna pay for that?

Nobody has to. Like I said, the local media is always ready to bash the org. Just alert them that a big demonstration is going to take place on the very day the org is in one of it's main ticket selling days (FanFest), and the advertising will take care of itself.
