Do not know about years / money yet. @BNightengale: BJ Upton receives a five-year contract for $70 milllion to $75 million for #Braves Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Final terms: Upton is five years, $75.25 million with #Braves. Pending physical.
November 28, 201213 yr Goodbye, BJ. Good luck in Atlanta. At least he's still in the southeast. Atlanta getting a star on the rise.

November 28, 201213 yr Author And 169 Ks with only 45 walks. With the exception of the power this past season, Upton has been getting worse when he;s supposed to be getting better. Maybe Atlanta will change things, maybe not. I don't except his homer total to be the same, I expect that to drop considering Atlanta is in a much bigger ballpark, and Upton will be playing a few more games in pitcher-friendly parks.

November 28, 201213 yr Its a good loss for TB, extra first rounder losing the attitude too! Maybe BJ will put all of his tools together, now all Atlanta has to do is find a replacement for Chipper
November 28, 201213 yr He hasn't hit better than .246 in any of the last four years. He's not "young" anymore. At 28, I don't see BJ Upton getting much better, if at all. It is easy to see both his homers (bigger ballpark) and steals (getting older) begin to reduce over his tenure in Atlanta.
November 28, 201213 yr Mike Jacobs only worthy season in Florida was his first season. The rest... you can have a lot of people play 1st base for the same stats. A lot.
November 29, 201213 yr Mike Jacobs only worthy season in Florida was his first season. The rest... you can have a lot of people play 1st base for the same stats. A lot. His defense was appalling, but .796 is firmly average offense from an offense-oriented position. If he could catch the ball he would have been fine.
November 29, 201213 yr That's a lot of money for Upton. I would've rather signed Bourn at that price.
November 29, 201213 yr What probably feels pretty good now is going to become Atlanta's 15 million per year vacuum. Upton is virtually invisible most days of the year, and usually ends up padding his numbers with one streaky month that hides the fact he produces almost nothing every other month.
