4/1 - Marlins @ Nationals - 1:05 PM (Opening Day)

Man this is bad offense, just GB after GB

Bad offense against a good pitcher is a pretty bad recipe

Yeah but it's still only 2-0 thank God they were solo jobs

@pollyvonwog:They should let Ruggiano start. But they aren't. So now we see what Coghlan will do. It'll take more than two ABs to determine that.

Two at-bats + three previous years should be enough to determine that he sucks.

another hit on Ricky......you gotta hold him Ricky

one of the many problems with this group is that very few of these guys are willing to take pitches or draw a walk. not that Stras usually walks many, just big picture.

Yeah, we basically have a bunch of slap-hitting, contact hitters who aren't very patient. Our success will be dependent on singles, which is usually not a good thing. Except for Stanton of course.

Bingo. But what can you expect from a FO that announced 2 SP on the DL the day before opening day.

Two at-bats + three previous years should be enough to determine that he sucks.Players can turn it around, even after 3 years of bad play. Remember how you were convinced Wade Davis sucks? And then he dominated in relief for the Rays last season. It happens.

But what is the point when the clearly better/proven player is sitting on the bench?

Remember how being a starter and being a reliever isn't the same thing? Perhaps you're taking my comment out of context.

As for Coghlan, he's not going to turn it around. At best, he'll be a mediocre hitter (instead of terrible) with no position. Hooray!

Yup bench the potential 15/15 guy for the dude who slaps the ball around and plays an average at best CF

Ask the Marlins?? I didn't set the depth chart. I would have started Ruggiano. But I'm also willing to give Coghlan a chance. Maybe he'll take advantage of this.

You said he sucked. You were pretty straightforward with it.

You don't know that. We'll see what he does with. You seem to have your mind made up on him.

Ok, fine. But you basically agree with what we're saying then, right?

Sit your fucking ass down, Worthless. 4th K of the day for Nolasco. He needs to get to a 1,000 K's this season before he is traded. Should get there by all-star break.

Davis was supposed to be a top prospect, and never lived up to it as a starter. It's different with relievers. That's like calling someone out for saying Andrew Miller sucks. It's entirely different. Perhaps as a reliever, his stuff translates better now that he can go max effort. As starters, they sucked.

As for Coghlan, he made up my mind with three years of being terrible.

Chris Coghlan hasn't even been a good hitter in the minor leagues the past two years...

@Erick: that they should start Ruggiano?

Yeah.

Initially, you said Coghlan wasn't blocking anybody. He's blocking Ruggiano from more playing time.

i like seeing ricky sit around 91-93. He was consistently 91-94 in 2008 and then it just seemed like he wanted to sit 88-90 so he could conserve energy.

Noticed at the end of last year he started throwing harder. He doesnt look like hes just lobbing it up there anymore.

Coghlan basically won the platoon job with .806 OPS in 62 spring training at bats. It's ridiculous really
