In a nutshell, it's because we'd have rather seen Dietrich develop and because the team paid $3.5m to Furcal who hadn't played in over a year, plus he had been declining. But, eh.

He's pretty much the old Juan Pierrre thing we had going last season. Long term Furcal isn't good anymore.
