May 26, 201511 yr Why is this a big deal? He sucked that one in New York. He did good in Atlanta. So it's a crapshoot
May 26, 201511 yr He's a long term fixture in our rotation. Very consistent minor league numbers throughout every stop
May 26, 201511 yr Start what? The game thread? Hey I'm down for whatever Admin thinks will bring the team some luck.
May 26, 201511 yr He's a long term fixture in our rotation. Very consistent minor league numbers throughout every stop Well he doesn't strike anyone out so he'll fit right in with this rotation
May 26, 201511 yr Urena is a right handed version of Brad Hand. The main difference is that he has an even worse last name and changeup. He is going to get hit REALLY hard. Hopefully they find some mitts. ASt this point, it doesn't really matter who you put in there, anyway.
May 26, 201511 yr Well he doesn't strike anyone out so he'll fit right in with this rotation He doesn't? Ahh crap just what we need. Guy throws hard but can't generate the strikeout. FWIW he had that one outing against the Mets that inflated the ERA, so relative small sample size. I am assuming there are going to try and get 5 innings out of him.

May 26, 201511 yr Kind of a crazy stat: Jose Urena has walked exactly 29 guys each of the last 4 years, even though his innings pitched increased each year. From 2011 on: 72.2 IP, 138.1 IP, 149.2 IP, and 162 IP with 29 walks each year. Whoever compared this guy to Hand has no idea what he is talking about. Hand still can't throw strikes.

Yeah mentioned that in my article. His IP total increased every year too. Remember when you watch the slider tonight that that pitch came from virtually nothing. He was always a good FB/CU guy but the slider was pretty much just a waste pitch. It's now his best pitch from what I see of him in AAA.
