They just keep shuffling useless names around for nothing. It would have honestly been better to bring up Mathis who is an improvement over Solano and in turn helps Realmuto. Whatever.

Our pitching staff right now is a rotation of Phelps, Urena, Haren, Hand, and Koehler with a bullpen of Ramos, MAzarro, Morris, Capps, Dunn, Rienzo, and Flores. Unspeakably bad. The funny thing is the front office is gonna end up blaming this season on injuries while the Cardinals lose their ace seemingly every year and are consistently good. This front office is amazingly bad. Loria still thinks its the manager.

We have like 4 actual bullpen arms.
June 2, 201511 yr Only logical reason is Flores is 40 manned. He's a starter, not a reliever. Made a ton of more sense to DFA someone for Wittgren. It's not like we don't have someone to DFA

We have like 4 actual bullpen arms. Umm... Flores is striking out 6.67 per nine and walking 2.38. That isn't terrible, but certainly isn't good. His BABIP against is .201 so his success is mostly luck based so far. He's bad and couldn't hold a candle to Wittgren or even to a few of the other relievers on his own team. He has no business on the 40-man roster and even less on the 25. He is a career middle reliever MAYBE, but most likely a guy who will bounce around from team to team and put up an ERA around 4.50 while pitching in blowouts and bullpen games.

June 2, 201511 yr Ok. But Hand isn't going to improve much more if at all. Flores will and had decent prospect status. Just because one is unknown doesn't mean he has more promise. Hand was probably a better prospect than Flores has ever been at any point in his career. Flores is 23, Hand 25. I don't see why we should expect improvement from one and not the other. If one of them is going to improve, I'd actually say Hand has a better chance. Realistically, they both kinda suck. Who cares, really? Speaking of guys to call up, where the fuck is Nicolino?
June 2, 201511 yr Letting Nicolino start, as they've done with Urena, is what they should be doing right now. Everybody is hurt so it's a perfect time to do it. Time to see what you've got in what's left of our minor league system. Nicolino's supposed to be the best of that bunch (not including Kolek who's too young). Let's see him (Nicolino).
