Say whatever u want about Cosart and Latos and even Alvarez not being that wonderful.... The fact that everyone he listed as number five is our entire rotation right now is crazy horrible. Having those first four healthy would definitely be a boost.

Dan Haren/Dave Phelps/Tom Koehler/Urenia/Brad Hand We could have 5 guys vying for one spot in the back of the rotation. That back end of the rotation is still very very very suspect. While there's a decent amount of options, most of those guys are #4's or 5's (even Haren, regardless of how well he's doing thus far this year). I'd honestly like to see Latos coming out of the 'pen when he returns, simply because I don't think he's even half the player he was in Cinci anymore and have a rotation of... 1. Fernandez 2. Alvarez 3. Haren 4. Cosart 5. Phelps Obviously if Haren continues to pitch like this the #1-3 looks really good (although Haren is a perfect 'trade high' candidate for the All Star Break). Cosart isn't really good but he works ok as a #4 I guess, and David Phelps is doing fine as a #5 so far this year. I love Tom Koehler, but it's obvious to everyone he works best as a long reliever. Jose Urena will probably go back to AAA sometime soon since he still needs work (although I do like his stuff and think he's potential as a #4/5 not too far down the line), Brad Hand is there as the "If somebody gets injured or sucks, at least we have Brad Hand" guy who is serviceable. I definitely think Koehler needs to be looked at as a trade candidate, same with Haren. Lets not forget Nicolino is also on the horizon and will get a chance (regardless of his numbers appearing to be very luck based throughout his career). Unfortunately this team gutted the farm system for a shot at this year. We really don't have any top tier or anything beyond B prospects within two years of major league ready. This team either needs to go after a starting pitcher in the offseason to be the #3 for next season or pray to God one of Nicolino/Urena/Flores break out and go beyond expectations. The future of the starting rotation isn't all that pretty right now, but a top 2 of Fernandez/Alvarez is something many teams would love to have. Just got to figure out what that 3-5 is going to be long term.

June 4, 201511 yr Junior Lake is a douche but not as bad as Nyjer Morgan. Literally all I could think of. Lake came off as a douche, but definitely not worth hitting like Morgan did, as he broke Brett Hayes shoulder for absolutely no reason the night before, acted like a douche in his career before the infamous brawl (throwing baseballs at fan, his multiple terrible personas, etc...), and during the game kept stealing bases in a double digit game that served no real purpose other than to get under the Marlins' skin. Follow up with everything that happened after the brawl, and I highly doubt that ANYBODY could touch the horribleness that was Nyjer Morgan. I, among many other fans, were literally advocating for him to be suspended from baseball for the rest of the season and sent to anger management for the crap he pulled. Nyjer Morgan was one of a kind. Lake could hold his 'ultimate douche' jock strap.
