June 18, 201511 yr Infield depth are so thin, especially 3B. There is no quality 3rd baseman thru entire organization. That would be real problem a season by season if we didn't solve it.

Prado is hitting LDs at 25% (versus Casey 17%) and groundballs 6% less than casey with Prado's significantly better speed and def. He also doesn't strike out as much and while the power hasn't showed up this year (and has been declining for a while), it's still better than Casey's. With that, yes a dietrick/baker platoon would most certainly be better offensively.

June 18, 201511 yr There's a chance this move could be almost as much about Realmuto as it is about Prado. Having Prado sidelined a few games might have been manageable if Realmuto didn't have that sore back. So either Prados shoulder is not improving or Realmuto is very iffy. Can Valdespin catch?
