Art Teacher Alert... these are the correct Marlin color tones... If you'd like a side by side comparison of other teams, I can do that... They are way different... Neither their orange or their blue has been used by any MLB team before... Are you all taking notes, class? There will be a quiz on Friday.

Rainbow: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple

Miami Marlins: black, orange, blue

Conclusion: The Miami Marlins logo is not a rainbow.

Of all the misconceptions about the Marlins logos/colors, this is the one that bothers me the most.

The Miami Marlins have a lot of colors in their scheme so if any team should have multiple alternates, its them. There are other teams with multiple alternates that I don't see the need.

They only really have orange, yellow, and blue in their scheme and the later two are mostly there for accenting. They are not dominant colors at all. It's clear that the franchise has mostly pushed the orange as the dominant color based on merchandise, the orange hats, and the orange jerseys.

If you want blue alternates, ditch orange as a dominant color. Get rid of the orange hats and jerseys. Make the merchandise more centered around the blue.

NO TEAM should be having multiple alternates, especially with radically different colors.

The dark blue or the baby blue?

Both actually.

If this really is some marketing work you're doing for the team, you should start a poll about ditching the orange, yellow, blue and ask if people would prefer a switch back to teal pre-2003.

This will not be happening as long as Loria remains the owner.

At least do it to demonstrate to the marketing people that Loria is too stubborn to understand the desires of the fanbase. It might even help convince the next ownership to go back to the old colors.

In other words, it can't hurt.

If they use the blue instead of the orange, I'm down. The orange is the same color I wore to play in high school, and it makes me uncomfortable. Also, the orange jerseys are awfully loud and obnoxious, but it IS Miami, soooo...

Please, Marlins people, get this done. I'll finally ditch my Reyes jersey for a blue one if they wear it.

Tell Loria that.

The Marlins shouldn't make a bad decision just because some other teams have.

Well to the Marlins credit, they have making bad decisions down to a science and really don't need much outside influence.

Also, ask the Marlins people if I could please have a job in their accounting department. I'm a forensic accountant.
