December 5, 201510 yr Id have the best product on the field before the miami all star game, but hey, not my money. So spend next offseason?
December 5, 201510 yr I never thought for a moment the Marlins would go after any free agent pitcher of consequence. Unfortunately, I also don't see any free agent with meaningful choices taking Loria's money. So get ready for whatever dregs are left.

December 5, 201510 yr So spend next offseason? Nope that's why I said MIAMI all star game. Build a solid team now and try to be highly competitive by 2017....the year of our all star game
December 5, 201510 yr Loria is probably going to want to do 2012 type stuff to make a splash for the ASG. Problem is next years class doesnt look half as good right now.

December 5, 201510 yr Spending a lot of money just because Miami hosts the ASG in 2017 might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. It's even dumber than firing Tommy Hutton and replacing him with Preston Wilson.
December 6, 201510 yr It's even dumber than firing Tommy Hutton and replacing him with Preston Wilson. Is that a scoop?

December 6, 201510 yr Glad I made your day. In the words of sharknado 3: "oh hell no"! I can honestly say I have never seen anyone reference sharknado before
December 6, 201510 yr Admin isn't allowed to spill the beans yet, but he knows that bow ties are about to replace sweater vests.
December 6, 201510 yr and Strasburg. Gio more likely due to Hialeah connection and interest in him previously
December 6, 201510 yr Admin isn't allowed to spill the beans yet, but he knows that bow ties are about to replace sweater vests. And bumbling crap is about to replace rants
December 6, 201510 yr frisaro just mentioned the marlins would only trade Ozuna "for a starter or high-end reliever." If they actually traded Ozuna for just a RP, I don't care which one.... get ready... http://m.nationals.mlb.com/news/article/158901582/nationals-looking-to-trade-drew-storen
December 6, 201510 yr get ready... http://m.nationals.mlb.com/news/article/158901582/nationals-looking-to-trade-drew-storen Michael Hill doesn't think you get it
December 7, 201510 yr I was reading that Atlanta wanted an outfield bat and a ML ready starting pitcher for Shelby Miller. What about one of Conley/Koehler in addition to Ozuna? does that get it done. If so, is Shelby Miller worth Ozuna?

What about one of Conley/Koehler in addition to Ozuna? does that get it done. If so, is Shelby Miller worth Ozuna? I don't think so if ozuna can make an impact every day. Miller only 35 times per year. Marlins are better off signing pitchers.
December 7, 201510 yr get ready... http://m.nationals.mlb.com/news/article/158901582/nationals-looking-to-trade-drew-storen NO STOREN OR PAPELBON!!!!!!!!!

I like your optimism on this but I think you're kidding yourself. A week or more after the pool of decent SP dries up, you'll read Scoop write about the Marlins closing in on a deal with Harang.

A week or more after the pool of decent SP dries up, you'll read Scoop write about the Marlins closing in on a deal with Harang. I said if Loria offers the most money, a FA would take it and that I doubt he will. How am I kidding myself on anything?
December 7, 201510 yr I said if Loria offers the most money, a FA would take it and that I doubt he will. How am I kidding myself on anything? Because even if Loria offers the most money, which is a dubious proposition to begin with, it would have to be at least 15% more than the next highest offer, to even try to convince anyone to play for him and that's not going to happen. The bad vibes from the Ozuna controversy and the rumors about an unhappy Fernandez will likely act as a negative influence as well.

The bad vibes from the Ozuna controversy and the rumors about an unhappy Fernandez will likely act as a negative influence as well. This is unequivocally wrong but is a common misconception among the fans. It is a moot point though anyway because as we both said, its unlikely that Loria makes the highest offer.
