March 7, 201610 yr Author Why go max effort in your first action of the Grapefruit League. What's the point?
March 7, 201610 yr I was actually 66 mph, but Scoop had his head up his ass so the numbers were inverted.
March 7, 201610 yr Why go max effort in your first action of the Grapefruit League. What's the point? 1) Frisaro as the source so proceed with caution 2) It's a fastball 3) I've watched probably a half dozen games so far in ST and i've seen plenty of pitches in the upper 90s 4) Glad to see he's still got it

March 7, 201610 yr Author Real story is Edwin Jackson messing everything up. It would be if that was a surprise
March 7, 201610 yr "considered the favorite to win the spot by some" who da fuq considers him the favorite?
March 7, 201610 yr "considered the favorite to win the spot by some" who da fuq considers him the favorite? He himself.
March 7, 201610 yr Real story is Edwin Jackson messing everything up. LMAO I just checked the box score. Wow dude. I know it's only one game but I thought it pretty certain he was making the team no matter what. If this crap keeps up you know the Marlins will consider releasing him and eating his salary.

March 7, 201610 yr "considered the favorite to win the spot by some" who da fuq considers him the favorite? The Marlins. Edwin Jackson. Probably his parents and family.
March 7, 201610 yr The Marlins. Edwin Jackson. Probably his parents and family. We should prob cut Edwin some slack...He was wanted by Benedict and was probably working on something completely diff than what he's use to...
March 7, 201610 yr We should prob cut Edwin some slack...He was wanted by Benedict and was probably working on something completely diff than what he's use to... Good point. He was pretty damn good out of the bullpen last year though, it's annoying that he and the Marlins want him to start.
March 7, 201610 yr Him throwing a pitch or two at 99 doesn't mean he's exerting himself more than he should or that he's overthrowing. I've heard tommy Hutton say plenty of times that when a pitcher is overthrowing and just putting too much effort into pitch speed the pitches tend to be less accurate and may tend to actually drop in velocity.

Every pitch today was between 95-99 just FYI so we can't be sure how many were 98 or 99 but I see your point.

Tommy who? Never heard of him.
March 7, 201610 yr Yea guys, we might be overreacting because it's Edwin Jackson. He could very well be trying things out that Benedict was working on and it didn't work today so maybe Benedict figures something out and corrects it. If Dee Gordon goes hitless in a spring game we say spring doesn't count but if Edwin Jackson gives up a bunch of runs in a spring game we all run for the hills? Not cool. Plus it hasn't even been a week of spring games yet. I mean, he is still Edwin Jackson so its possible he does suck and never figures it out but lets all breathe for now.
March 8, 201610 yr I didn't see a radar gun readings posted at the game, it sure didn't seem like he was throwing that hard
March 8, 201610 yr As far as Edwin Jackson goes. If he can at least be a serviceable reliever were getting value out of him. Even if it's just eating innings as a long reliever or in garbage time in blowouts.
