Is Stanton MLB's Steph Curry?

Featured Replies

In all seriousness I read the article and the comparison seems to be Curry's ridiculous long range shooting to Stanton's ability to hit a ball far harder than anybody else. I'm sure that is similar, but if we're really thinking comparison wise Curry is far more consistent shooting than Stanton is hitting. Although they are similar in that Stanton is incredible when hot just like Curry is.

Mike Trout or Bryce Harper are more likely baseball's answer to Steph Curry. Both guys are five tool players who put up video game numbers and have highlight reel moments both in the field and at the plate.

Stanton is more like baseball's version of Russell Westbrook. Both can have games where they look like they're in another league from the competition, and then they'll both have moments when you wonder what the hell is going on. Both also have an injury history and play for franchises that have changed homes in the last decade.

I disagree with the Harper and trout references. Although those two may be the best all around players in the game currently they don't do anything unique. They merely do what other good players do but more consistently. No one else can hit the ball as hard as Stanton. It isn't saying Stanton is better than trout or Harper but he has a unique skill that no one else in baseball can emulate.

Agreed.  That was pretty much the whole point of the article.  I wasn't really compare who's the best player.
