MLB the Show 16

I still haven't opened mine yet. Homework and life but Saturday yes

You should at least open it to get a whiff of that new game/dvd fresh disc and plastic case scent. They should make air fresheners that scent.

Game is legit, definitely an improvement from last year already. Batting stances on Ozuna and Stanton are dead on this year. Hit a home run with the first pitch I saw with Stanton and him rounding the bases and taking the football pass from the 3rd base coach was great. There is more attention to detail in this game.

The only thing is they got a little on the branding with some players but you can always edit that in. Played a handful games and really liking it.

I barely play my PS4. I'll buy the Assasins Creed and beat it in a couple months and then sell it on eBay, other than that if I am not playing the Show it is only used for Bluray.

Ok here's my list of issues with the game. Just a disclaimer that I love the game so this isn't like I hate it and just wanna rag on it. In a way these are just annoyances and nuisances but when you see what they are you'll see they're all visual issues and I think it's fair to point them out when they're something I'm looking at 90% of the time that I'm playing the game. So here they are...

1. Ballpark Errors. I believe every park has its issues but Marlins Park specifically has the home and visitors bullpens reversed. This has been changed going on four seasons now so why hasn't this been changed in the game for the last four years? Also there's a huge Marlins logo painted on the grass behind the plate that has never existed in reality and the fish on the top of the home run structure is facing the wrong direction. The rest of the ballpark looks beautiful, photo realistic in some places. The developers have said they actually travel to the ballparks and walk all over them taking photos and notes to get all the details right. Well if they're so concerned about details I'm not sure how these things don't get fixed.

2. Skin colors. There's quite a few odd skin color choices in this game, I'm not sure how this gets approved but, on the Marlins, Bour has the same skin color as Stanton and Cosart is basically a light skinned black guy. So strange.

3. Faces. Player faces for this game are literally scanned from the actual player's face during spring training. With so many players the developers have said it's just not easy getting everyone to sit for a scan because it isn't mandatory. When there is no real scan the games artists just make a somewhat generic face and they sorta kinda just try and get somewhat similar to the player's real face. That's understandable and that's fair but it's hard not to notice just how many Marlins either have a generic face or have a scanned face that just looks way off. This is more noticeable when you look at how perfect some faces actually are such as Gordon Yelich and Prado who are spot on. Bour Ozuna Realmuto (that's 3 of our starting lineup!) along with Dunn Hand Dietrich are some of the Marlins with generic faces. Dietrich is the most puzzling of the bunch as his generic face basically looks a lot like Jacob freakin Turner of all people. Yes it's just a game but it's hard to not punch a wall when I need a pinch hitting lefty and here comes Jacob Turner. I'll post a pic of this below.

4. Player models. These things need serious upgrades. The ballparks are so spot on then you've got these last gen quality players running around. The strange thing is some things are immensely advanced like long hair and beards and some faces. But then there's things like sleeves that are stiff and don't move when a players arm moves. I really only point this one out because looking at characters in both NBA games and Wwe games, these really stand out as being not at their best possible quality.

5. Lastly, uniform errors. Right off the bat let me say I know there are reasons for this one and a lot of it is actually legal reasons and some of these things won't change because of it but man it sucks to have so many mistakes on every team's uniforms. Coloring is an issue, black jerseys come off as gray. Cap logos too small. The wordmark across the Marlins black jersey is incorrect. The teal of the throwback jerseys is way too dark. The thickness of the Marlins collar piping is like double what it should be. Shame really.

Again, its just that these are visual errors and when you're enjoying the game it sucks to keep constantly be hit over the head with these things that just ruin your immersion into the game. It'd be like watching a great movie with really bad special effects. Oh well.

Enjoy black guy Cosart and Derek Jacob Turner Dietrich!

The outfield play is smoother than last year. But the throws from infielders are a bit awkward. Sometimes it seems players don't react well to the buttons you press on the controller whether it's to move to catch a ball or to preload a throw.

Damn @SilverBullet1929 nitpicks like a mofo. This game is a ton of fun

I already clarified that the game is a ton of fun but I've played the game for years and those obvious issues are in my face every time I play so I'll keep bringing them up until they're fixed.

Yeah well I stand by my post

That's fair. I'll also stand by my concern that a team of professional video game developers can't make Jarred Cosart white.

I actually noticed this problem too right away, it is extremely weird that they'd get something so simple wrong.

This right here. The game is so good and so detailed at so many things that ironically that's what makes the weird issues stand out. Oh well, I really don't wanna harp on it.

Oh and for the record @SilverBullet1929, I am just busting your balls. All those things are items that should not be in a game that is upgraded annually and comes at a $60 cost. It should be ironed out by now especially when the feature set doesn't really change that much.

Thanks dude. Also, in addition to the cost of the game, some of the errors have been in there for years so dare I say there's some laziness in the development process.

I love how skinny Bour is, how can they not include his big butt in the game??

At the sake of once again being accused of nitpicking, the game only has 3 body types available for players. Fat like Pablo Sandoval, buff like Stanton, and skinny like Dee. There might be a fourth but the point is every player has to fit one of those. If u have a guy with a more in between body like Bour, too bad because he's either gonna be uber fat or more normal and I guess they went with normal.

But really, just a little devils advocate on their behalf, they'll tell u something about there being 60 something characters in one game and it would be difficult for the game to process a variety of body types so they just cycle through three or four and it's just the faces that change. Whether its valid or not there are "reasons" to a lot of this crap so I have a smidgen of understanding even though it still frustrates me.
