Culture of Losing

Fun Fact:

It's common knowledge that the Marlins have never won their division in their 23-year history.  But did you know that the closest the Marlins came to winning the division was not in their WS-winning years of 1997 and 2003 (9 games back and 10 GB, respectively) but was in 2009 (6 GB). In fact, neither of the championship seasons qualify as #2 either. That distinction belongs to 2005 (7 GB)

Don't know if this qualifies as a long culture but good research. 2009 could have been a great year.

I wish we could trade our World Series championships for some division titles.

Since I started really following baseball in 2009, I have yet to see winning really on any level. 2009 was an awesome first year because we were fairly close to the playoffs. I'm ready to see some winning baseball.

In the same boat as you. I started following baseball and supporting the Marlins in 2006 so have yet to see us in the playoffs.

2006 was a great season considering how truly the team turned it around. They started 11-31

Lol exactly. This is why this thread makes me facepalm.

A thread about C0L that's pointing out our lack of division titles while bringing up our two world championships? Excuse me but there's an "Atlanta Braves" on line 1 that would like a word with you.

I'll take the championships as consolation. But sincewe're on fun facts, Giants complained in 1997 (as they do since they get their way [cry babies]) about the 2-3 format since they lost to the Marlins. And so now we have the 2-2-1 format. Not that I'm against the format just thought it funny that things in the sport change when the Giants bitch.

any series that begins with the team with the higher seed on the road is wholly unfair.

Playoffs are meaningless, only thing that matters is a championship

Translation: Going on a date with a girl is meaningless, just let me have sex with her.

Perfect analogy. Too bad I am the 1990s Buffalo Bills of dating. It never goes past the date.

your downiness pisses me off!
