I don't understand pointing out a player's age when he was acquired for a short-term use. We didn't bring Rodney in so he could be a RP for the next 10 years. He was brought in to help this year and also next year because they believe the team could be close to being a WS contender (probably wrong). He's out-producing many younger guys, much like Ichiro. So age is meaningless in this situation.

When I posting like that, everyone was calling me a lunatic (rightfully)

come on. i was ripped for what my views on the marlins system and the SP market and I've been proven right emphatically with this trade. I will continue to be proven right as the market progresses

From my perspective, the issue is more that acquiring a short term reliever is kind of trivial unless the Marlins can acquire a solid starting pitcher that they desperately need.

I think the Marlins will stay in it for awhile but they aren't going to win a playoff series with this rotation, if they make it there.

People around here thinking there is any chance of the Marlins getting a #3 or better starter in this market with dick to trade is hilarious.

I get acquiring a reliever, mostly because the bullpen is going to be dead tired come August from overwork of this trash rotation.  I dont particularly like Rodney and I dont particularly think they should have given up their best pitching prospect for him, but whatever.

not just best pitching prospect, their best prospect total. Naylor isnt top 200

Hey @el penguino also note. You are ageeeing with a man who suggested Paddack would be better in our rotation than all other pitchers who have been in the 5 spot for us this year.  That's right, @pollyvonwog said Paddack the LOW a-ball sp would be ready for MLB right now.

hey boss first it's regular A ball. Also Jose only pitched A+ and did fine. Paddack is absolutely better than Nicolino and a MILE better than clemens

once again you clearly missed my point that we have no chance of signing a SP of significance without Paddack.

The point I'm making of the espinoza for Pom trade is that I was 100% right
