PS we dont have a prayer at any SP of legitmative value with our piece of shit farm especially minus paddack

Hey@Admin, care to tally up how many times polly has posted the exact same shit the last few weeks?
1. MLB team don't look at the top 150 prospect lists we do. Each team has their own big board.

2. Naylor + Garrett have far more value than Yonder Alonso

So weird the padres took the top 20 prospect on EVERY board vs the guy who's not a top 200 on ANY board and a guy who prob wont be signed. What's wrong with Preller? What an idiot for paying attention to Baseball America & Fangraphs. Not to mention only getting paddack for Rodney. Terrible GM

People around here thinking there is any chance of the Marlins getting a #3 or better starter in this market with dick to trade is hilarious.

FWIW having dick to trade can probably get you quite a bit from@Admin
doubtful.  Cardinals are a fantastic organization that reminds me so much of my Spurs.

Maybe when Loria goes away I'll actually care about them a little more.

The Cardinals aren't even in the same class as the Spurs, but alright. The only team in professional sports that is probably near the Spurs' level is the Patriots.

The way the organization is ran (the stupid former farm director spying on the astros notwithstanding), the organizations have many similarities in the way they are ran and the way they go out of the box to procure talent while being in smaller markets.

the patriots are an easy correlation due to their great success in terms of wins/losses.  Though being in the AFC East helps.  Imagine if the Spurs had played in the East all those years....

I'd be okay with Santana, he's serviceable and signed for 2 years, and also pitching better lately. We don't have the goods to get anyone better, thanks to Mike Hill and staff and a barren farm system they expertly put together. But we all know that, so lets move on and hope they sign Garrett and don't again go brain dead by trying to give away Naylor for Santana, who is probably going to Texas anyway.

Cardinals are no where near the Spurs or Patriots and I really love that the cubs are going to be better than them the next 10 years. Their awful awful awful fans are so butt hurt about it. Very entertaining

I rooting for Spurs since the David Robinson era but no more now due to I have no more PASSION in the basketball.

How do you know we even made an offer? I've been saying I wouldn't even give up Naylor for Pomeranz who has zero track record. The Red Sox overpaid because they have a great farm system, not because Pomeranz is a great pitcher. My whole point this entire time has been we have what it should take to get these guys. If the Rangers for instance want to deal Gallo or Purifar for anyone other than Tehran, they can have them. Not to mention Boston was the first team to make a deal. There are more pitchers than teams that are buying. Demand will be driven down by supply.

Hill is no doubt gone

Santana, Locke/Neise and Odorizzi will most likely get moved

And that's not even factoring in

Hellickson, Gray, Corbin

Miami, Baltimore, Texas and maybe Toronto. That's it.

Yeah we can hope they never heard of him or saw him and just imagine he's a good prospect. Smart

Just pass around the video from in the dodger game. That should be enough.

Random question but how come North American sports still operate very much through a trade philosophy? Is there technically anything against doing what happens in football (soccer) and offering a "transfer fee" for a player? For example offering a straight up cash bid of $40m for a player.

When the Marlins play the Cubs in game 2 of either the NLDS or NLCS it's going to be Ricky Nolasco vs. Jon Lester.

LOL

I'll take it though, it means playoff baseball!!!!

I know polly would prefer the team was sitting at home reviewing Paddack's A-ball box scores to have hope for 2019 instead of in the playoffs though. And yes, its possible Rodney is a reason we end up making it if we do.
