July 16, 201610 yr By the way, one other thought on the Rodney deal that I have not seen raised. Fish traded for Rodney on June 30. The deadline is August 1. That means a team trading for a starting pitcher at the deadline is looking to get about 11 starts out of that player. Rodney will have been a Marlin for over 80 games once the season ends and could easily pitch in 40 of those games. That's pretty good bang for your buck. It's a smart idea. I love Hech (I know I'm in the minority on that) but if he can be part of a package for a front line starter then I'm all for it. Plus he turned down our extension so fuck Hech. LOL

July 16, 201610 yr Had a thought. Chen's struggles are probably forcing the front office's hand. Chen is supposed to be our number two but he's not even pitching like a number three so they're probably more desperate for a number 2 or 3 starter than a 3 or 4 which they could live with if Chen was playing like they thought he would.
