Pineda would be awesome. His peripherals are a heck of a lot better than his ERA, and he doesn't walk guys.

I can't imagine we would have enough to get him, though.

I mentioned Pineda a long time ago in this thread. Would love it if we could buy low on him.

Just tossing this out there...

I still don't think the Yanks care enough about money to give away players just to dump CC's deal in 2017 but its still a hefty price tag anyway so it could be a factor that reduces the package going back to them. If we take CC with Pineda it would be 2 starters and would likely lower what we have to send back a tad.

I cannot see Loria ever doing that.

Why not? It'd draw more fans to the ballpark. The team has said it'd be willing to add payroll, and adding ARod to a potential deal with the Yankees means we'd give up a lot less to get one of their SP's (in this case, Pineda).

Loria loves A Rod.

Yeah, I believe it's been rumored in the past that they have a good relationship, right?

Does that mean he's signed through 2017? I can't keep track of the definition of rental here anymore.

I'm still mourning paddock.

We need some good and young SP not only for this season but also for future seasons, the Mutts and Phillies all have very good and young rotation but bad lineup and we have good lineup but bad rotation,so we need to upgrade our rotation now for this year and future years to compete with our division rivals when they have good lineups to coupled with their good rotation.

So instead of spending money last winter on another arm they are just going to waste money.

Typical Loria.

Can't wait to see what happens if they fail to make the playoffs.

What else were they supposed to do last winter? The SP market wasn't very good. We signed one of the best ones in Chen, and he's actually been a disappointment.
