The marlins bullpen is so nasty they don't need a #2, they just need innings eaters so we aren't toting them out there all the time.

Get to the playoffs and anything can happen. this offense and that bullpen... you never know.

Eh, our offense isn't that good.  We have a bona fide ace, a great bullpen and a really good defense.  Our offense is not as good as is advertised. 15 teams have an OPS equal to or higher than the Marlins do.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Maybe you had no idea what I was talking about.

I was saying that Chen, as bad as he's been, is better than a "#5 on a good day".

Maybe you need to check your post again, you said Chen "IS NOT A #5 ON A GOOD DAY".

Right, he's better than a 5 on a good day.

Any translators working the night shift tonight?

I agree. Plus anything can happen in the playoffs like you said, specially if Jose pitches twice in a series.

Unless we find a team that covets Hech for some scandalous reason, we should just save our prospects for the future.

This team looks deeper with each game.  But baseball is crazy, who really knows

I disagree. Doing that in 2003 would have meant we didn't end up winning the title. Gotta go for it when you have the chance.

No, things can fizzle out quickly in baseball. Don't bother going for it because you'll just get your hopes up.

And prospects can fizzle out. When you have a shot at making the playoffs after so many years without, you go for it. And it's not like we have top 10 (or even top 75) prospects to deal. Whoever we deal has major question marks. Let's get a solid starter and upgrade the Gillespie spot and call it a day.

Our lineup is full of very good hitters. OPS aside, this is the type of lineup that wins big games. When Bour and Dee are back, we're as good as anyone.. especially if Giancarlo is being Giancarlo.

Gillespie specifically doesn't have a spot, he's the Dee Gordon roster spot, he's keeping it warm. Kelly's spot is Bour's spot. Once everyone is back its actually Chris Johnson's spot that needs to be addressed.

Why have we not traded for Danny Valencia yet? Perfect fit. Enough with the Don Kelly/Chris Johnson experiment.

Valencia seems perfect on paper, but his reputation for having a terrible attitude and being a bad clubhouse guy has hurt his market.

I've never heard of this. In fact he always looks very energetic and enthusiastic.

I am a Canes fan and have always rooted for Valencia. But I have heard this from several sources who would know. It also explains why a player with his production would have such a poor trade market.

A homecoming could help, makes him cheap. and can play all positions.

If a player have attitude issue,I think it's doesn't matter where he is.

Ehh I don't know if that's true. All depends on the surroundings.

I think if the attitude issue is some negative stuff due to playing for a losing team like last year's Jeff Baker, then playing for a winning team like us may help.

Maybe, just like something bad that happened in last year's circus leading by Redmond may won't happen in this year's regular army leading by Mattingly.

“It’s hard to tell because there’s so few options,” said Michael Hill, the Marlins’ president of baseball operations, on whether he thinks he can complete a deal before the deadline.

Yea,we shouldn't blame Hill if he couldn't get a deal done due to our suck farm, but we should blame him for created this suck farm.
