August 4, 20169 yr Wittgren probably should have faced Zobrist though. That's about the only point where I wouldn't have done what Don did.

August 4, 20169 yr In fact,I hope Wittgren be the new closer. Nah, I still go with Ramos. Two blown saves in a year, I'll take my chances with him
August 4, 20169 yr Lol Cards losing. Doom and gloom because we lost and to the best team in baseball and now today, without even playing a game, we might have a share of the 2nd wild card spot yet again. End the season! Give up!
August 4, 20169 yr Nah, I still go with Ramos. Two blown saves in a year, I'll take my chances with him Yea,just two blown saves but how many heart attack saves and leadoff on base ?
August 4, 20169 yr Also, despite the fact that it's three losses instead of two, in theory I'd rather get swept by the Cubs than lose a series to the Reds. The two outcomes tell me very different things about my team.
August 4, 20169 yr Yea,just two blown saves but how many heart attack saves and leadoff on base ? True but a saves a save regardless of how he gets them.
August 4, 20169 yr Don is far from a perfect manager but blaming him for yesterday's loss is ridiculous. Some of the people that dislike him also disliked past managers and will dislike future managers though. They should hire some of the members here to manage! Clearly we are a board full of potential Managers of the Year. Sign me up! We win yesterday's game if I'm manager but I don't know how many others I'd lose for us!
August 4, 20169 yr Sign me up! We win yesterday's game if I'm manager but I don't know how many others I'd lose for us! How do we win yesterday with you as manager? What would have been your exact moves and how do you know how those decisions would have ended up?
August 5, 20169 yr How do we win yesterday with you as manager? What would have been your exact moves and how do you know how those decisions would have ended up? I would not have IBB Rizzoli for one. If he beats me he beats me but Don put us in a position to beat ourselves. Ramo's is good but the one thing keeping him from being great is control. Why put him in that situation? If Rizzoli beats me then hats off to him and move on.

You would still be a suck manager if you choose to pitch to Rizzo and he got the walk-off hit , because all other managers here would said they would IBB Rizzo to face Zobrist and it's the dumbest move to pitch to Rizzo when first base was empty and the game was on the line.

No chance in hell would that be the reaction from most if he pitched to Rizzo and Rizzo hit the game-winner. It'd be called a bad decision because it would have been one.
