Post Game 8/3

So Ramos has been a stonewall all year, he blows one save and now everyone starts saying we should have traded him. Too funny.

I'm saying that they should have kept Capps and trade Ramos in the upcoming offseason.

I don't see anyone saying that Ramos should have been traded now.

There are people in this thread saying he should have been traded at the deadline. That we should have "sold high."

99% of managers would have walked Rizzo there.

I've questioned Mattingly at a ton of times this year, most recently when he wasted Barraclough with the pitchers spot due up in the next inning and his starter only at 83 pitches, basically wasting a reliever without a day off for 3 more games and a flight in between

But you have to walk Rjzzo there. He's the best hitter on the team and it sets up the force. Even if Zo hits the ball hard at someone it makes the last out easier to get. No problems with that call regardless of what AJ says about wanting to face Rizzo

This is also that time of year where every single loss becomes "our undoing" or "the worst loss of the season."

Some of you said the same thing after the Mets series, and then we went and split with the Cardinals. Take a deep breath and relax. Stop being so reactionary.

Must have missed that then.

I was the only one who brought up trading Ramos before the deadline.

No you weren't.

I'd rather have AJ throw backwards and underhand to Zobrist than bring Dunn in there in that spot.

They wouldn't have gone to Dunn. It wouldve been Wittgren who has success as a closer in the minors. Very good success. And he's been our best reliever since coming up.

If it's me I walk Rizzo then go to Witt to face Zobrist

big diff b/t ramos this year and last is ramos fastball is an absolute piece of shit this year which is causing his change up to be not as effective. I guess that's why he's been relying on the slider so much

I posted that because there were multiple people in here saying he should have went to Dunn instead of having AJ take on Zobrist.

He's been awesome this year. A legitimate argument can be made that he has been even better this year than last year.

Rizzo is probably winning the MVP this season. I mean AJ was a mess to say so he was going to blow it either way. Awful outing but he's been good this season so yeah.

I'm not saying he hasn't been good this year. He has. But he's been shit in his last 7 games and Mattingly needs to know that when he sends him out. It was obvious 2 batters in he had no control. I mean dude had more confidence throwing a slider 3-0 then his heat. That's a sign he needs to be removed.

Btw, me saying trade Ramos before the deadline wasn't because I dislike Ramos. I think he's a good reliever.

"The Marlins were 53-0 this season when leading entering the 9th inning until their loss to the Cubs today."

But blow the whole damn thing up cause its 53-1 now.

I'd like to say this is sports fans in general, but it seems like Marlins fans are the most reactionary fan base. Maybe it's because this franchise hasn't made the playoffs in 13 years so people automatically assume the worst, and I guess that's kind of fair, but still.

Who else did?

I'm not gonna name names, but there were literally several people that did. It even happened as early as the first page of this thread.

That's just dumb
