Phelps started using his breaking ball again and has been pitching well. Too bad the FO is a buncha cheap bastards and now they have to use him as a starter

I just can't understand the walk to Rizzo. You have a guy out there who through one third of his pitches for strikes and you walk the bases loaded in a one run game in the ninth inning.

The problem for me was that Ramos wasn't lifted. Mattingly is an idiot.

 

 

Ramos has done this tightrope walk shit almost his entire career.  Yes, he had an extraordinary run there for awhile but he RARELY gets a 1-2-3 shut down inning.  You provide chances for the other team and put guys on base and eventually your luck will turn sour.

No way. He got the call on Bryant and a base hit from Rizzo or Zobrist likely wins the game. You have a guy really struggling yet you expect him to just start throwing strikes? I mean tell me Zobrist smokes one and they win, fine. But he walks him on 5 pitches. Like no one saw that coming? 

 

He threw like 1/3 of his pitches for strikes. But hey, lets make it even harder on Ramos to say Zobrist beat us and not Rizzo when it wouldn't have made a difference. 

 

 

I know that Capps isn't a sure thing with his delivery and and injuries, but I think the smartest thing to have done would be keeping Capps and trading Ramos and Ozuna in the offseason for a starting pitcher.

 

That would be basically selling high on two players in order to fill a blatant need. It also wouldn't be selling low on Capps, which is what the Marlins did in the SD trade.
