I mean your fucking GM acquires Rodney for the 8th inning role. 

 

Your closer has blown 1 save all year.

 

You walk Rizzo 10 days out of 10 to set up a force everywhere and face a hitter thats not as good.

 

At some point you just have to blame players for not doing their jobs.  I cant see how you can fault Mattingly right now.

 

Zobrist is a great hitter. Its very simple. You cannot walk the bases loaded in a 1 run game when your guy is all over the place. You just can't. Both are great hitters. 

 

 

I know that Capps isn't a sure thing with his delivery and and injuries, but I think the smartest thing to have done would be keeping Capps and trading Ramos and Ozuna in the offseason for a starting pitcher.

 

That would be basically selling high on two players in order to fill a blatant need. It also wouldn't be selling low on Capps, which is what the Marlins did in the SD trade.

Sell low? They basically just gave the guy away. Horrible horrible inclusion as a throw away when he was the best guy in your pen last year all because he had TJ.

Honestly no. If he gets the game winner then he gets it. But to walk him with a wild pitcher and then the tying run scores on a walk. Well deserved.

 

 

If don went to Dunn and he blew the game, we'd be hearing about "over management" and "poor decision making" Point is, no matter how we lost, Don would be blamed. He didn't fuck up. Rodney and Ramos did.

Just because they're the 8th & 9th inning guys doesn't mean that you're not allowed to take them out when they clearly can't throw a strike.

 

Mattingly deserves partial blame just like the players deserve partial blame. Also, when a pitcher can't throw a strike, walking the bases loaded is usually not a good idea. I was thinking canadamarlin thoughts while listening to Felo on the radio. Felo needs to retire by the way.

 

 

I don't blame the manager he stuck with the closer that's the closer's job is also and the league mentality. I question that mentality. People function differently on different days.

Its time to get Rodney out of the 8th inning. He has not looked good at all and has had trouble finishing innings. 

 

Time to move Claw up and I would like to see Ellington get a shot.

I agree. I think many managers actually pitch around Rizzo there and hope he chases. They don't automatically give him the free pass to load the bases considering Ramos couldn't throw strikes today.
