October 3, 20169 yr I don't know how you can say they fired Bonds when he was technically no longer under contract.
October 3, 20169 yr Will Manso saying Players had a say in Bonds dismissal. This I can buy, they may have had an override vote. I would believe that a lot more
October 3, 20169 yr Author man i thought theyd love barry.. apparently wasnt the case, they aint show any discontent in public.
October 3, 20169 yr man i thought theyd love barry.. apparently wasnt the case, they aint show any discontent in public. That's my biggest shock about it, he seemed to get along VERY WELL with the players
October 3, 20169 yr I don't know how you can say they fired Bonds when he was technically no longer under contract. Exactly what I'm trying to understand. Or is it just media jargon? Call DJ, see what he knows.
October 3, 20169 yr I'm sure they were professional but Barry himself mid season or so did specifically Stanton didn't listen to him at times. His wording wasn't as dramatic though he basically said that during his slump stanton preferred to be left alone and didn't want to take Barry's coaching. Looking back now that makes sense to what Mish is saying.

October 3, 20169 yr Menechino getting the hitting coach gig...again... Wonder if we hire a new assistant
October 3, 20169 yr Reading through all of it I'm OK with thinking the players loved Barry and his wisdom but didn't think he did the job as a coach (which was never for certain to begin with) and then Don spoke up for his players which led to Bonds leaving despite the front office liking him. That makes perfect sense to me. And while we here liked Bonds it also isn't wrong of the front office to listen to its manager and players when evaluating a first time coach.
October 3, 20169 yr I see this as more of Mish remembers that moment and is running with it. That too. Him making a mountain of a hill.
October 3, 20169 yr To be fair, the guys let go weren't guys that Mattingly wanted to begin with. Bonds was a Loria hire & Lenny/Cornelius were here from the old staff. Maybe Mattingly just wants to bring in his guys. Hopefully that's what it is.
October 3, 20169 yr Maybe Mattingly just wants to bring in his guys. Hopefully that's what it is. How many guys does Donnie have? Not that there's anything wrong with that.
October 3, 20169 yr How many guys does Donnie have? Not that there's anything wrong with that. I hear Donnie likes 5 guys.
October 3, 20169 yr Lenny Harris and Cornelius is weird too because what did they ever do wrong. But to be honest a lot of this sounds like Don just making decisions after a full year with these coaches. Decisions that he thinks will help the team going forward. It's fair and not crazy. Other teams make these minor coaching changes as well, let's not crucify the Marlins for this one.

October 3, 20169 yr let's not crucify the Marlins for this one. Would be a pretty major punishment for such a thing, you're more dramatic than Mish
October 3, 20169 yr I hear Donnie likes 5 guys. Delicious burgers and I love how they give you so much fries.
