Barry Bonds not re-signing

Featured Replies

Sounds like he did more work than Bonds did.

sure no wonder he's coaching a MLB club instead of being a blubber mouth on TV

Not sure what you're getting at. Just because someone isn't coaching or managing right now doesn't mean they're bad coaches. There's plenty of good coaches/managers out of a job right now. There's only so many coaching positions to be had. And even then, Eduardo had several seasons of coaching in the majors, for two teams. He wasn't let go after just one like Bonds. He also had managerial stints in Puerto Rico, apparently winning an award one season too. So again, I'm positive Eduardo did more in his coaching career than Bonds did this season.

Stop bullying and face shaming me. Also, I have a terrible American face, not a terrible English one. Not that there's anything wrong with English faces.

Yeah, but...

So's your face.

if the man can hit, he can coach bottom line

"Those who can't do, teach" is the saying though!

For instance @SilverBullet1929 can't draw for shit, but he's a great art teacher.

when you teach children to draw fish and they end up like dicks floating then it's not a great teacher, I still question the school board for giving him a job .

Absolutely not true. Not everyone is capable of transferring their knowledge upon others. Not everyone is a teacher or a coach. And if he wasn't doing the work needed to be a major league coach then he's even worse of a coach. Coasting on just because you know something well doesn't make you a good coach.

FYI Barry was at the Giants SP camp as a Invited instructor same with Will Clark way before the marlins offer him the hitting coach position , so he did have the experience at the job given. He was thought by one of the greatest in baseball and I'm sure he knows how to pass that knowledge.

Yes I knew that. But coaching for a few weeks or possibly even just days as a guest instructor in the spring is not the same as going through an entire 162 game season with travel and all that the job entails. I'm sure Barry knows hitting but that doesn't mean he can teach it to everyone and it also doesn't automatically make him a great coach. Mattingly implied that Barry didn't put in the work like watching video with the hitters and things like that. Sounds like Barry did minimal work.

That's not always true. A little bit different here, but say someone is exceptionally knowledgeable with Physics. They understand it very well, but now they need to explain it to Joe Schmoe. Physics person might not necessarily be able to do that. There's a definite line between knowing how to do something and knowing how to teach someone how to do that something. Ya gets me?
