2. A lot of people aren’t keen on going to a baseball game on Easter particularly one with no hype.  

 

 

When Pittsburgh comes to town in a few weeks they won’t get 40K for the entire series.

 

I didnt watch today’s game but there is NOTHING better than sending a bunch of Cubs fans (who live in South Florida) home with a loss.

There were 14 other MLB games today and with the exception of maybe in St Petersburg I'm sure plenty more than 10,000 people went to those games.

 

Also, Easter is a religious holiday, there's plenty of people who don't celebrate it.

I just meant a factor.  You’re right though it’s small.  I guess I was thinking more of it because I would have gone yesterday had it not been for my in laws having the family over 

 

 

I was super excited about all the off-season moves and was so looking forward to the start of this season. I am more impressed than I thought I would be with this young team. Lots of grit - they fight back, and I love it!  How much better could Dillon have been today....put up zeros.....no matter how ugly it may have looked, it can't be any more "consistent" than that.  Outstanding series for almost everyone...Bour?  Care to join in at some point? ?  The team has me so enthralled that I had to order NESN so I can see the next two games!  (Local New England blackout against the Red Sux on MLB TV). I hope beyond hope that the team continues to play like this all year. 

 

Dillon Peters did okay, he worked out of some tough jams. If anyone else in the Cubs lineup minus Bryant, Russell or Schwarber were actually hitting the ball well then the score might have been a lot more different. I'll take the W anytime, but I wasn't overally impressed.

 

Good split. Peters teetered but was able to get through it but he needs to get more consistent.

Same here, they are just going off the MLB at bat app right now.

 

 

Bour has shown he can be a slow starter once he gets going this lineup will definitely be refreshing. Only makes me wish JT was back in already. While Wallach has shown he can be a good back up catcher and has called some good games the offense is a black hole in that 8th spot. When JT comes back I think Telis is the odd man out, but I don't see them going with 3 catchers either so it may just be Holaday being cut.

 

This was a great win and the Anderson hit was amazing. Can anyone fill me in on what happened with Mattingly after Anderson was thrown out at 3rd base? Even though he was safe. Who was he upset at? Fredi Gonzalez or Anderson?

True.  I work in retail and all last week it was Christmas 2.0.  Long lines every day and people were coming in with lists like it was Christmas.  WE sell candy and hardly anyone bought it, they wanted big expensive gifts.  It was crazy.
