Unveiling of new logos and uniforms

Pretty silly to have the white jersey discounted for two straight days but not on the third day. They literally lost a sale because now I'll wait and look elsewhere.

Makes me think it was never supposed to be on sale and was by mistake.

I wear the jerseys enough to have more than one and I have gotten to love the white one more each time I see it so I'm in I've got to have it mode.

I wear the jerseys too, but I wind up wearing the same one every time.  I had an orange jersey, and then when they came out with the blue one, I don't think I wore the orange one again lol.

Most companies do that this time of year.....the big sales for a couple of days, then they're back to regular price.

Yeah but the sale is still running, just the few fish items that were included no longer are. Points to those items being on sale by mistake.

Ohh, I didn't realize that.  That's odd.  That makes more sense, with the MLBshop not discounting the new stuff either.

I did buy one of those 47 hats with just the fish on it last night for 30% off.

For them to have the Marlins items on sale for two whole days seems like a monumental mistake though. It shouldn't have been more than a few hours at most. The first person to get a discount on the Marlins stuff should have alerted them to it. Whatever.

Incompetency runs wild.

Why would a random person getting a discount on something report to them that something was on sale?

For one, it means they can't get it discounted.

Also, when it says "everything off 30%", why would someone suspect the new stuff wouldn't be included?

I phrased that wrong. I meant when someone is able to successfully process their order with the 35% off on the new Marlins merchandise that should have been a sign to Lids that there was a mistake. I'm not saying that the person getting the discount should have reported it. I'm saying they went 2 whole days giving that discount to the new merch before even one Lids employee noticed?

Oh.  Well that makes sense.  Yeah, I'd agree.

We need a full investigation.

We have great investigators here. Who was it that went to the site of the mural with the logo photo shopped onto it? And remember when I solved the puzzle about Julian Fernandez's Rule 5 status? Frisaro himself still hasn't figured that one out.

So I don't know if this is the best thread to post this, but I wasn't sure it needed its own thread, and it seemed related to the new uniforms/rebrand, but The Athletic had this article on the Marlins/rebrand:

https://theathletic.com/652290/2018/11/18/new-look-marlins-are-trying-to-connect-with-all-kinds-of-miami-fans-in-hopes-of-winning-them-over-someday/

Quote

A Marlins player or an executive or maybe even owner Derek Jeter dropped by their table or greeted them at the coffee counter.

Clad in the team’s new jerseys with the black, blue, red and white color scheme revealed a day earlier, they’d hand you a free Marlins cap and wish you a nice meal or pour the cup themselves.

Perhaps they’d even engage in some polite brief conversation and pose for a selfie.

This scene repeated itself at about a dozen locales around Miami neighborhoods like Wynwood, Coral Gables and Little Havana as the Marlins went door-to-door engaging fans and introducing them to their new look.

The Marlins’ purpose in all of this goes beyond changing the look of their logo and uniforms.

It’s a concerted effort to improve the relationship...

Most of the article is here - I didn't want to post the entire thing, so I took out a few parts that were more filler.

Basically the article pointed out ways they're working on reaching out - including going to different parts of town with gear, and making concerted efforts to embrace the community in different ways.

Obviously, time will tell how things go, but it's a good start to reset the relationship with the community.

I love that they're doing this stuff but I find it more shocking that this stuff is just so unfamiliar to the community. Its telling how incompetent the previous ownership was that so many people and businesses are like "can't remember the last time the Marlins ever did anything like this."

There was a small Christmas fair type event in downtown Fort Lauderdale last night.  The Marlins (and Panthers) had a tent there with people there.  I didn't go talk to them, but nice to see they were there.....in Broward haha.

I was talking about the lids website, not this one.

Lids is full of incompetence. I've seen it first hand. I almost bought the new hat November 2nd or 3rd. Only thing that saved them was the manger walking over and having a heart attack.

All I had to do was ask for the new black hat with a M. Out the back it came baby!

Where was  that 47 cap?
