O'Brien to play RF, Marlins done shopping

Featured Replies

The front-runners at first base are the left-handed-hitting Neil Walker sharing time with the right-handed-hitting Martin Prado.

Are they gonna allow Cooper to play compete as well for 1B or just RF with O'Brien? Cooper just had some bad luck last year would be really nice to have put up another good spring like he did last year.

The number of decisions made on playing time already in February is interesting.  Urena opening day; Anderson full time 3B. O’Brien in right, walker at first. I would have thought position battles would have played out longer

Kinda takes some of the intrigue away from ST. Excitement level now negative 2 billion.

The article about O’Brien that I read said they prefer him in RF, not that he won the job.

On the other hand, how often should you be giving out starting positions based on small-sample spring training performance? I wonder if that idea is overblown, outdated, or just unhelpful.
