7/17 vs Padres

Paddawan doesn't give a rat ass he's facing the Marlins, Mike Hill couldn't trade him fast enough

i hate watching Paddack.  Same with Castillo.  It's damn painful.

I hate watching Richards.  The guy is BP outside one pitch.

He's solid once through the order.  He's a great long reliever.  I don't like seeing him face them a second time through though.

Yeah, @SongInTheAir and I were discussing this. He would be great for two innings. Opener?

I guess it would all depend on how our pitching staff shakes out in the future.  I don't like the whole opener idea, unless we can't put together a solid 5-man rotation.

I'd rather go the traditional route - a strong 5-man rotation, and then work the BP as necessary.  And if we're lucky, a lights-out set-up & closer.

I do like the idea of piggy-backing if it works out well enough. Starter goes twice through the lineup, first reliever [former starter] gets the next nine batters, and so forth.

The problem with the opener thing is that you really tire out your bullpen. The Yankees had issues with this right before the break. They had the opener and then had those two high scoring games in London. And the pen practically limped into the all star break.

The Rays do it right, though. Opener then piggyback guy. Piggyback pitcher goes a few innings. Yanks may have been doing bullpen games instead. lol
