So I noticed something when watching the Friday game on DVR. Alfaro dropped a lot of pitches from Pablo that should have easily been caught. Now we are seeing some more. WTF is wrong with him?

the thing about Jorge Alfaro is that he isn't good at baseball.

When it's in the zone, Cardinals batters are missing it a ton (save Molina who was sitting fastball). Just get it in there, Trev.

What's the record for pitches without a strike to begin a game?

I’m not sure what the record is to begin a game, but there was a pitcher named Miguel Asencio who made his MLB debut on April 6th, 2002 for the KC Royals, he came in as a relief pitcher and threw 16 consecutive balls and no strikes, and finally after his 4th walk in a row, he was pulled.

I was reading about that game, he was a Rule 5 guy who had never pitched above Class A ball.
