I'd be annoyed if they say they are serious about winning (as they say they are) and then continue to pinch pennies and have an ultra low payroll for no real good reason other than keeping more money in ownerships pockets.

In that scenario, yes, absolutely be annoyed.

But saying "same old Marlins" cause of not giving out a mega-contract if they do actually end up signing someone to the type of deal I listed (6/160), that'd be different certainly.

I'm not mean necessarily to give $200~300MM contracts but to give contracts that needed to sign the real “TOP TIRE ” players.

I always think the posts of @Das Texan were too much extreme before but I'm 100% on the same page with him now, this team needs to go all- in in this off-season and they need to know maybe it's the last chance to save the baseball in the south Florida.

We all will be annoyed in that case.

I know it's an example, but curious who out there are you proposing 6/160 to?   Or rather what FA's are in that range that we could use.  I don't know if that'd work for someone like Correa.  But maybe Bryant?  I have no idea what his market is like.

Uh, that's what we've all said all along.

It was just a figure I threw out, yeah.

But maybe Freddie Freeman would take it to stick it to the Braves for not paying him!

Lol, it's pretty HOT around the league with many minor league deal signings and many players signed with the Asian teams …

Is it greedy to want this team to acquire one of Olson/Rizzo/Freeman to play 1B ?

Olson would be really awesome. Could use Lewin as part of the return. Three more years of control, strong lefty bat, really cut down on his strikeouts in 21 ... plus isn't he a really good defender?

I'd be in favor of that.

It would need almost the same package of top prospects for the CF we want (Ketel/Reynolds/Mullins…) to acquire Olson, so if this team also like this idea then maybe need to choose one from them (CF or 1B), because it would almost run out the farm to acquire both.

Having Lewin in the deal would make it a little bit easier, I'd imagine, cause they'd have an immediate replacement.

Maybe it's a little extreme but I'm not against an all veterans lineup, I mean, even Jazz and Jesus Sanchez not sure thing.
