Yes I love how everything eventually gets connected.

The Guardians Holiday Special and the Werewolf by Night special were also excellent.

That Guardians holiday special was so good, I need to re-watch it eventually.

I didn't see Werewolf by Night.

Been a couple years since I've seen this but the Haunting of Hill House is absolutely fantastic. Powerful stuff, amazing writing. What a story. I loved it so much. One of those that changes after you finish it and so you'll want to watch it again once you know the ending. And I think the themes and messages of the show are so deep. It's got ghosts and stuff but all of that is actually metaphors for some real life problems. Once you understand it you can argue that there actually isn't one ghost in the whole show.

I heard those could be tied in somehow. Not sure if that’s true or not.

The episode with the broken neck lady is the best episode of a series I've ever seen

Everything in the MCU is tied in and if you don't see the connection now it will eventually come back around and connect later. Everything.

Guardians special is just a short film set in Christmas time connecting the 2nd Guardians film to the 3rd.

Werewolf at Night as of now is more of introducing a few characters that will pop up again in future MCU content.

Oh I was given a recommendation to see Bullet Train and I couldn't even finish it. So not entertaining. I'm sure some would like it but that's a whole different type of whacky shit, a completely different style of silly sensory overload that I just can't get into.

And that's saying something from me because I consider Dumb and Dumber my all time favorite movie.

And werewolf by night I think you need a bit of a disclaimer or explanation before watching it so that you aren't thrown off and turned off by what you're seeing...

There was a brief point in time (in the 70s I believe) where Marvel comics took a little deviation away from classic superheroes and dabbled in comics based on classic horror monsters like werewolves and vampires and so a collection of comics in that realm exists in Marvel history. To start toying with that world they did this project, more of a short film, but they purposely did it in that classic but a little campy horror style of like the 1940s or so (not positive on the years). So when you watch Werewolf by Night you have to know theyre purposely going for that style of film. I remember explaining this to my wife and then she enjoyed it because if I hasn't told her that she'd be like why the fuck am I watching some old black and white monster movie?

(Oh and to compare this to She Hulk, in my opinion, Werewolf by Night purposely does it different and hits it right on the head while I thought She Hulk missed the target. So it's not about doing it differently it's about doing it right)

Jaw dropping.

And I don't love horror movies, I shied away from them forever. But Hill House showed me that horror with good writing is something I enjoy because it's not just about scaring me, and so I feel like I've been chasing that type of horror ever since I saw that show.

I think I can probably say I've watched more horror content in the couple years since I seen Hill House than I ever have in my life before because of how that show changed what I'm looking for with horror.

I enjoyed Bullet Train quite a bit but then again I would need to be paid quite a bit of money to watch Dumb and Dumber ever again. But I also think Jim Carey is a horrendous actor and comedian - I used to like him when I was in my early teens but by the time I was legally an adult I didn't find him amusing anymore.

Damn this thread has me hooked.

Casa de Papel anyone? Translated as Money Heist in English on Netflix. Another strong engaging show. Spanish show and its translated into English but if you can understand the original Spanish it's way better that way as you're obviously getting the real actors and not voice dubbing from random actors.

dubbing is such an awful way to watch any foreign film lol - it distracts so much from the movie it instantly makes nearly any great film feel like a high school project.  Subtitles are fine and i find that if the movie is engaging you eventually don't even notice you're reading the words any longer.

The Boys on Amazon Prime anyone? Haven't watched it but have two friends who swear by it.

I absolutely HATED it the first time I watched it. I made it to about episode 5 or so when it first came out. Then this year I tried watching again at the insistence or so many people and I enjoyed it a lot more. I think season 2 is the best of the lot but it's worth watching overall imo. It's nothing groundbreaking and some of the themes do get a little tiresome because they beat it to death but I thought it was decent overall.
